I went to a few pre-season training sessions and eMac was a stand out on the track. He was strong, clean with hands and pivotal in the drills I witnessed.

So the reason was valid - he delivered on the track and was good in the scratch matches. I was really disappointed with his immediate drop off in the GWS JLT match.
Keys - you saw more than me but would you agree on the strong summer eMac had?

For the life of me I will never understand why a recent all-Australian full-back has been dispatched to the wilderness by Simpson.

And I reject Simpson's bullshit about McKenzie not adapting to his game plan. What freaking game plan?

I'd bring Easy in this week, keep Barrass and allow McGovern to play a switch hitting role if need be, without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

This will give the team much needed flexibility.

Mackenzie was never AA and he looked very average last year/in round 1 this year.

I honestly have no idea what can be done. There's no one good enough in the WAFL that deserves a spot in the team, but by the same reasoning, there's no one in our team (particularly in the middle) that's done enough to deserve keeping in.

I'd be keen to see some of the kids just so we're clear on whether a full list turnover is necessary in the immediate future.

EMc (I am a fan) has not been able to perform since his knee. McGovern fails every time up forward - just doesn't have the full/

I may have mentioned before, we drafted soft slow mids like Masten - rebuild the midfield or get used to it

Hurn into the centre bounce then drift back to hbf with Mitch ?

Hurn should not be captain. He has no personality. That aside I agree. Move him around. Our biggest problem is not using players effectively. The backline setup should revolve around Hurn getting a lot of the ball free of his man to deliver up ground. You won't find too many games where he has had over 15 or 16 kicks and we have lost. Also he is a big body. Getting him in the middle or at least running through the middle from the back at bounce downs should be a priority.

Also we can't play Pridda, Redden and Mitchell in the same team. Drop Redden. He should be perm depth until Priddis retires. All of Reddens minutes in the guts should go to Sheed.

Can't wait for the selection table where big names will be out

Outs: F Mcinness (played pretty well but clearly one of the reasons we lost)
K Mutimer (need more from a second yr mid, needs to be leading the others in hardness stakes)
T Barass (clearly needs to go because well because didn't do enough to stop his opponent from getting silver service)

Ins: D Petrie (kicked the winning point so clearly offers twice as much as Mcinness)
J Hill (usually the man dropped when midfield gives nothing but since he wasn't in the team needs to have his name in the selection sheet)
E Mac (clearly we lost because of our defence and he needs to come in till our midfield next gets whalloped)

HM: if our match committee wants to really put the fear of god in the squad:

Out: L Duggan
In: M Hutchings

Agreed, I'd like to see guys like Lamb/Karpany/Partington get an extended run

Agree. Ezy has not been given a chance to prove himself this year. Barass has been good, but give him a break for a few weeks and see what Emac can deliver. Maybe there are other reasons he isn't being selected?

Maybe because he blew out his knee the pre-season after making the extended AA squad (not the team), has struggled for form since, has been overtaken by a younger player in Barrass and is also a victim of the success we've had since reverting to a smaller, more mobile defensive lineup?

For the life of me I cannot understand why it's so difficult to understand.

How does the team grow a heart? Everyone should fly out together for starters. It is a team. We also need some enforcers to stop us being beaten up. For example the Masten incident; where were our guys making the Essendon guy pay?

9 to 1 free kicks in the first quarter makes the team wonder why they are there as well. But they have to roll with these.

Essendon are a strong side grown on just the right stuff. But there is no excuse for our softness. We need Tunbridge and people with a bit of mongrel so at least the free kicks given away are deserved and the opposition know they have been tackled.

I swear if heads dont roll, Im probably gonna neck myself.

Im having nightmares, as all I can imagine is a pathetic 'axing' like this:

Out: Mcinnes, Redden
In: Petrie, Hutchings

When really our changes should be:

Out: Redden, Lecras, Butler, Priddis
In: Hutchings, Jetta/Karpany, Nelson, Partington

We really missed the 1v1 strength of emac against Essendon, he was a good fit for playing on daniher and playing barrass and McGovern as intercept players.
The problem is that our game most times doesn't need this.
Do we need emac against gws?

In Petrie? Was he good in the twos?
Same for Jetta? Really? WTF will he bring Kraz? Srs question!:)

Jetta had ten inside 50s and is building his form in recent weeks at EP , could be a chance this week .
Thanks. So he'll come back, do ok. Then get dropped again one or two matches in.

FFS if he comes in I'll be pissed. Match comittee would have learned nothing in the last one and a bit years. *angry face*

Mackenzie good 1-1?

Talk about living in the past.

He'd been doing Alter-G running (whatever that is) and was passed fit to play.

He was picking up possessions in the backline in the final term so I don't think his fitness was an issue in his poor personal performance (one of about 20 in that boat).

Well he didn't look it to me. Even in the warm up he looked proppy as shit. Feet injuries should go through a lower grade to prove fitness before selected for the top level IMO coz there's too much refund in them.

Simpson has talked about bringing him back for a block of games, when he's ready.

Dont really want Petrie in the side but I think thats the way the MC will go.

Jetta has been playing relatively well in the two's last couple of weeks. Would rather see what he has got then the steaming shit that is being served up currently.

What changes would you make?
