Nothing like backing in the leaders who didnt deliver unless Redden,Mutimer & Barrass are leaders?
The three didnt deliver, were immobile and didn't add any attack. They would be crucified against the pace of GWS on last weeks effort. Very understandable.
Simmo has already said our problem is leadership - the 'leaders' need to be tested- rise to the challenge or be moved on as part of a strategy, not a knee jerk reaction.
Mut man is touted as having pace. So far he is a slow footballer. He may be a rest runner but he is a slow footballer. With confidence this may emerge - but another bowling will not build his confidence.

Adam Simpson and MC are weak and disappointing. IMO these changes are nothing other than reshuffle of usual names. On top of that you drop youngsters like Barrass and Mut and once again give another lifeline to senior guys like masten, hurn, lecras, darling even prridis. It is crystal clear Simmo has not evolved as a coach. He is not proactive, simply reactive. Or.....he has no influence what so ever in selection, either case, he has to go.Certain players will never get dropped. This is all on West Coast board on their poor decision making selecting a coach. They are not alone in this department. Lions ( Voss), Collingwood and Essendon ( twice in Knight and Hird I think) have been guilty of that. To me no individual is bigger than a club, regardless of what they have done in the past, you judge them on performance and dropping these guys shows clear inconsistecy as I can clearly name 3 or 4 more players who should have been dropped instead. I am furious!
I am going to go as far as saying that even if we win the flag, I will now be anti Simmo. His approach, vision( if he has any) and plans are not on par with what I expect as a West Coast Eagles coach.

we will win this game, and the one next and maybe the one after that. Then in Melbourne we will get destroyed by dogs, saints and Collingwood and nothing will change. I'm over it.
Bit of an over-reaction here. Your comment highlighted sounds like a real wobbly if I ever heard one;). If Simmo should go on to win the flag (unlikely in my opinion due to our list) and then you still want him sacked, and please enlighten us as to who the replacement will be who will be better? Getting a good coach is easier said than done. Sure our seniors (particularly away) need to pull their finger out. It will be interesting next time they play in Melbourne as to whether Le Cras gets picked, as in Melbourne I forget the last time he had a good game. The match committee couldn't make too many changes as we don't have that many performing well (or fit) in the 2s. I agree with your comment however that Simmo is reactive and not proactive. Notice this time and time again.

******* lol

Winning a flag still wouldn't be enough for Nima

Thought process of an eggplant
Me and you have difference in opinion about the game. Stars need to align for us to win a flag. You might get excited and happy chappy about it. I am looking at the bigger picture. He has to go. I am looking at consistency you are looking purely at results.

The problem is that, every other week, we perform so well at home that we don't see that 3+ run of bad games that is usually required for a senior player to be dropped.

A loss on Sunday to a depleted GWS, for the first time in our history - the loss we had to have?

what a joke!!!! play younger players!!!
Playing younger players doesn't perform miracles, unless they are ready. Think Venables will get a call up after the bye sometime but from what I've heard he hasn't built up his tank enough yet. If we go on the senior players who didn't put in last week (numerous) not so sure we have that many in the 2s who deserve a call up?

If we do lose to a depleted GWS on Sunday, then heads will have to roll! Players & coaches alike. However don't be surprised if we don't have a big win which will gloss over everything!

Didn't expect much else. Still no idea what the MC expect from petrie but hes not going to be a panacea. Redden probably the only really good omission. Mcinnes and Mutimer haven't been great, but at least theyre going to be around in the future

I think he is physically competitive, mobile, smart and able to play forward. Thats three points min over the dropped ruckman - all fill ins for this year. Best option available.

It is an extreme example to highlight a point. quick question. what makes you believe our starting 22 will set world on fire if they play WAFL this week. Imagine you didn't know them and if was their first game this week in WAFL. Do you really think all our forwards will kick 6 each?? do you really think all our mids will get 30 plus touches??? Now hold that thought, reverse the scenario. What makes you think a player who had 15 touches in WAFL can't come to AFL and get 20?? Problem is selection criteria my friend which comes down to coaching. Richards was dropped from Bombers picked up by swans won a flag and AA is one example. Caleb Daniel would never get a game in Eagles jumper. SPP would have probably spent all year in WAFL if he was an Eagle., stats are not enough for you to select players. Confidence, bigger occasion could have immense effect on their performance. That's why winning the flag was mentioned as an example.

You perhaps haven't seen enough of GWS. They will field 10 players who are arguably better than any we have.

I have heard that Barrass is carrying a niggle which obviously is hindering him, so not surprised he was dropped.

Also I do not call you names. Eventhough I have few that I could come up but I stick to footy debate. :) so should you:)

Disappointing to see Masten and LeCras get another game, which I guess was to be expected but after all of Simmos tough talk this week, their was hope. Was hoping to see Pridda rested too.

Of those IN's I'd hope Mackenzie, Hutchings and either Hill or Jetta are left out.

I actually like Hill in - he does a lot of unnoticed things and also is capable of getting us 2-3 goals (is quite uncanny at times, just not often enough but he has plenty of friends).

More than likely Schofield, Hill and Petrie play as they are named on the field so it's 4 from:

Sheed
Jetta
Mackenzie
Karpany
Hutchings
Nelson
Cripps

My guess is Sheed, Nelson, Cripps and Karpany

Really hoping Nelson and Karpany are the ones that make the final team from the extended bench. Also, hoping Karps is given an extended run at it as his attributes are much needed in the team.
