WCE won't even make finals if they are relying on those players. At least all of those players are team players and you know they are attempting to play their role.

LeCras is playing for himself. LeCras is a Spud.

We're a lock for finals and most likely top 4.
We will flat track our way there no worries.

Lecras still has abilty but he has slowed considerably and can no longer nail goals from outside 40m so his time is up.
Priddis the same. Game has past them on.

Just look at the Dogs.
Its all about young contested quick midfielders.
Less interchanges, quicker scrapper ball movement plus the dying art of rucking has killed the old guys.
Best get games into Parto Nelson Venables Karpany Watson Rioli Cole now IMO.

Keep over rating the team, it's been 3 years of the same shit, the likes of Masten, Hutchings, Redden, Jetta being rotated in and out of the team but nothing different actually happening, these players aren't getting us anywhere.

If we play like we did 2.5 years ago we make the Grand Final

I don't think Masten has been dropped in about 6 years, not exactly "rotating in and out".

LeCras would be comfortably in the top 10 for the BnF so far, people saying he should "never play another game in the wings" is bizzare.

Generally speaking a player running the ball forward allows the opposition to get back in defence and forwards who have led up at the ball carrier are out of position

It's about speed of ball movement and no player can outrun a ball through the air - a quick burst and bounce to break a line and get through congestion can be very damaging but multiple bounces can lead to stagnation unless there's clear grass ahead

Generally I think the bouncer negates all the congestion if he can kick the goal as well ..

2 years really. 2015 was good year, that ended badly.

Masten, Hutchings, Redden, Jetta being rotated in and out of the team but nothing different actually happening, these players aren't getting us anywhere.

Not arguing this. But we talking about this weeks game.

You want Masten dropped. But you've not offered a solution, nor have have had any real substance to you argument. Masten hasn't been anywhere the chopping block thus far this season, and rightly so.

Just admit, you don't like Masten. That is why you want him out.

That's not very fair. It's not what I posted and you know it.
"Good performances at home have lost so much value"

True that's not exactly saying you'd prefer us to lose, but it's hardly placing a value on a win either

As has been mentioned GWS are a strong opponent and it's silly to dismiss a win if it comes

Why is LeCras such a horrendous shot at goal now? He will set shots directly in front, 20 metres out.

WTF Simmo? I saw James ******* Sicily take 2 bounces down the wing of the smallest ground in the league last night and you're telling me Jetta can't do that?
I can only speculate but I figure that quote from Simmo is intended for Jetta's ears. He'll be under no illusion, his job is to use his speed tomorrow.

The last 8 years i've been watching him play pretty average footy, he has limitations in his game, he can't stick tackles, can't win 1 on 1s, isn't damaging, the only reason he's not under the gun is because Redden, Jetta, Hutchings and Mutimer have all been worse. He wouldn't be in any of the top team's midfields. Venables should be brought into the team in a half forward role and see how he goes, better than sticking with the same tried and tested mediocrity.

Honestly, some people in this thread need to give themselves an uppercut.

We are 4th on the ladder, 6-3 with a winnable home game tomorrow. We had a shocker last week, no doubt, but throwing the baby out with the bathwater has rarely been proved to be the best solution. The best performed youngster at East Perth this year has been Mutimer - he's come in and had a few games and limited influence if we are being honest. Now people want another 3-4 players at that level in the team, thinking that "playing the kids" will make us better. It won't.

The Bulldogs showed last year that cups aren't handed out in May. Toughen up, show a bit of ticker and support your team.

Lecras has kicked set shots from outside 50 this year. Not worried about his distance but his piss poor accuracy the past few weeks is not excusable. He has been ok except for his shots on goal. If he'd converted 2 last week and 2 the week before he might have even been praised by some people. The shots aren't that difficult either.

Similar to Darling last week, forget the crap Dermie was talking about hitting it sweet off his boot, he wasn't kicking it good at all and it ruined his game, it could have been a very very solid game.

Then Kennedy against the Bulldogs, nearly cost us the game. His misses last week were not that difficult either from memory but he corrected late and kicked 4. There's promising signs from all of our forwards I think, the effort is there but the polish is gone.

The midfield continues to be our biggest issue. Give the forwards more opportunity and don't require them leading out to the wings or helping out on ball and there will be better results.

Spot on. We don't win enough centre clearances and teams walk it out way too easy without Naitanui.

It's been happening so easily the last 2-3 years and nothing's changed. Cattle suck, no intensity and strategy poor.

Drop Masten!!!

I think you'll find I agree with most of this.

However,

I don't care what you think, I know I'm right about Masten.
Drop him!!!! His previous seasons means he should be dropped RIGHT NOW.

Masten BE GONE!

Because larri was definitely referring to me,
I don't care what you think, I know I'm right about Masten.
I just read about 8 pages of the thread and almost necked myself.

I wish. Gotta coach my son's basketball this afternoon - serious business....
Caught footage of your boy earlier, got some hops

i havent read this thread in close to 24hrs and its turned to absolute trash. Thank god i missed all that.

The sad thing with Lecras is he was one of my favourite players to put on the jumper and his 2010 year was absolutely sublime.

All the hard work he has put in to help me see him as an eagles legend is being ruined by his current form and plain selfishness.

I know players decline as they get older, but its sad to see a player that was so good in his prime go down like this and still manage a senior game.

The only upside is that you will get to see him in direct comparison to Stevie J.

Both have the selfishness of 2 year with a packet of lollies. But whilst LeCras has father time right on his shoulder, father time has belted SJ with a lump of 4 by 2.

Prefer Lecras, but only by the length of a dummy spit.
