The query on Parto is his two way running and defensive effort.

Ainsworth is younger but has a real crack and tackles hard.

This season its been our team defense and tackling that has worked wonders. That infers Ainsworth may get a crack ahead of Parto.

If we have Parto in the side we could have the Parto Petro show!:D

I think the fact Ains has been an emergency a number of weeks might get him the nod and he isn't shy of heavy close up stuff

I know Ah Chee has been out injured until the last couple of weeks and as I don't know much about him does anybody know which position is he best suited - is he more suited to playing on a HFF?

More HFF but we drafted him to be a mid/HFF. I think he has some Yeo like qualities and can become a very good player. Good burst of speed, excellent leap and overhead mark. And has the best left handball in the comp.
Stats wise he hasn't done a lot in the WAFL yet, so I don't think he is ready.

Agreed until he earns his spot he can stay in the WAFL Ainsworth has earned his spot

East Perth's stats yesterday and the week before.

I am a fan of Partington and given time, I think he could become a Lachie Neale type. I think Ainsworth should get a bit more WAFL time. He is still a year physically behind Parto.
Ah Chee is progressing slowly.
Brander has been consistent and deserves a call up but I wouldn't bring him in without removing JK, Darling, Waterman or one of the key backs. Good for the team as Waterman knows there is a perfect replacement for him if he plays badly.

If it's any of Ah Chee, Ainsworth or Partington I think it will be Ainsworth.

Already an emergency multiple times. Decent numbers in the WAFL. Bigger than Parto and looks to be more physical. Concerning for Parto is he always has low tackle stats which would be in line with the poor defensive side we've been hearing about. Not necessarily a killer since Sheed is poor in that regard too. Will be interesting to see which way they go.

out: Shuey (inj)
in: Sheed(if available)/Ah Chee

Would be tempted to blood a debutant in Brander or Ainsworth but need to find the right balance.

Brander needs to be played so he can see what it takes at the top level, what I've seen of his East Perth games is very exciting and we need to fast track him into the 22.

Out: Shuey (inj)
In: Ainsworth

B: Sheppard Barrass Hurn
HB: Duggan McGovern Cole
C: Gaff Redden Masten
HF: Cripps Darling Waterman
F: LeCras Kennedy Rioli
R: Naitanui Hutchings Yeo
I: Lycett Nelson Ainsworth Petruccelle
E: Karpany (traveling) McInnes Schofield AhChee

Assuming Sheed won't come up. Give Jetta another week with his injury history.

Ainsworth gets the nod over Ah Chee based on form, it'll be a big job for him though. Midfield looks very week, Rioli and others will have to run through there at times.

Karpany to carry the bags basically because he's the only small who can really afford to miss a week right now. Ah Chee and Parto need game time.

It seems likely to be Partington or Ainsworth.. AhChee not quite there ( but impatient to see him)..anyway not a bad problem to have and how good is our depth now. Anyone know how Kurt Mutimer is tracking - what's his downside?

Could probably rely on the midfield rotations we had for the Port game with Shuey effectively out for the entire game.
Bring in Brander to rotate with one of the talls off the bench ;)

Jokes aside, Parto comes in if he plays inside. Not HFF/wing nonsense like last year please!

Simmo did talk about getting creative - so we may see a scenario where if Jetta does come back - Duggan moves to the midfield and we retain nelson.

Personally I'd like to see Ainsworth given a crack

We don't have an injury excuse against GWS who are missing more gun players than us.

Assuming Shuey is the only injury concern from the port game there should only be one change as the rest deserve to retain their spot

Sheed and Jetta probably need another week to overcome their injuries so it's a choice between Ainsworth, Partington or Achee, probably in that order but each has a case for inclusion

Taking the season to date in its entirety Ainsworth would have the strongest case

I reckon we need a like-for-like replacement for Shuey against GWS. IMO based on needs, Ah Chee would be the perfect choice.

Parto already knows the systems, was among the best for EP, and Yeo, Redden and Hutchings would be able to cover for his lack of defensive running; he would be the safer choice over Ainsworth's inexperience. However, Ains has got Parto covered for tackles and is admittedly a bit better on the inside.

Overall, we'd be pushing in more youth and rewarding form - everything we wanted from 2017. But we need to replace our best mid, and Sneeze would be better suited for the challenge.

We have to remember that GWS still have a B22 built on speed and precision. The lack of Kelly, Greene and Scully obviously detract from that, but the Giants will be breathing fire. They'll try to run us off our feet and use the ball far more aggressively, and we'll need to match them personnel wise.

Ah Chee covers the absence of Shuey to a tee; he has more speed and defensive running than Parto, and his outside game is miles ahead of Ains. We need a complete player to replace our best midfielder, and Ah Chee is exactly that.

I think we are better than most pundits think and they are not as good as they think themselves,
they have key injuries just like us, we are in with a big chance this week.
