Just from an educational point of view- what do you call significant contributing factor for someone to earn a spot?? Just want to make sure we are on the same page. Even a novice can pick a player if he has 40 touches and 5 goals with no turn over and 80% plus kicking efficiency.Apart from extreme cases, what do you consider to be a performance worthy of a call up??

Well we know Masten will not pull a hammy unlikely for him to roll an ankle, doesn't have side steps or most likely he is tackled before he rolls his ankle What else is left?? Concussion?? no chance, he will never go for 50-50 balls . Let's just rule out Masten ever getting injured.

We have had 4-5 players over the last year travel the next day so there is a chance that is the case with Gov.

Let's look at the +ve,

If we manage to get to lets say 9-4 after round 13, we will get all of them back.Or even better, find some rough diamonds in our WAFL like Brander, Ainus or more.

The Bayok elevation makes complete sense, we are losing small forwards like crazy. Depth is being tested for sure.

Given he has been in the AFL system for a LONG time, he needs to at the very least be one of the best, if not BOG in WAFL.
It is clear he is being gifted a game due to our injury situation.
All I'm saying is I hope he brings something to the team that all our other debutants have so far.
Given he was a failure at Port (overtaken by turnover king SPP... really?) and has shown nothing so far at the Eagles.

Hutch/Brander & even McInnes provide great examples of the standard deserving of a call up.

Interesting trend this year with the club really telegraphing the team pre-selection announcements. I guess they are getting on a plane anyway so people can work it out, but I've never really noticed us do this before.

I think they have always announced debutants early. It’s just that there are so many debutants this year it’s become a weekly thing!
