Apparently Swallow did not train in the main session on Wednesday. Wouldn't expect him to be right to go this week.

Our only hope is that he does a super amazing recovery and has a complete session on Friday. That's where Supernova comes in. ;)

One of the sportal journos tweeted it. Though I'm unsure how he came through the information, since Mike Whiting let me know that even they(journalists) cannot get into the closed Wednesday sessions anymore.

Guess we'll see on Friday! Or possibly even this evening. They may have ruled him out already, in which case he won't be listed in the team.

So it looks as though one third of last weekend's team will be forced out... At least GWS has leveled the playing field a bit with some injuries of their own.

I will most likely be attending this game. Should be a great game, but I personally want Gold Coast to win and get their first ever win at Carrara.

Hopefully I am not jinxing Gold Coast with my attendance. Not including QClashes, I have attended 7 games and all have been disappointing performances, apart from Rd 23 vs Hawthorn last year. Combined losing margin of 490, or 70 pts per game.

With up to 7 forced changes, there will players either debuting or playing for their career. This is their chance to prove they are worth keeping on the list, and give a 100% effort. Really don't think Swallow should play unless he is at least 90% fit, even if he did manage earlier in the season.

Should save it for Carlton :D

Will be working so can't watch, but no matter who is in or out on each team, please brighten up my week of night shift, eh Suns?

weird, weird move having no hickey. late inclusion i'm guessing.

I hope so, because regardless of what the truth really is, going in to play without a ruck man when there is 3 available could only look like one thing . . . .

You're actually joking right??? You don't expect this nonsense from an actual Suns supporter. Where to start? It's just so ridiculous.
Given our apparent interest in giving our number two pick for the kid in the GWS mini draft, there is no benefit at all if we lost. The benefits of tanking are non-existent and the incentives of winning are huge.
I can't believe you are questioning the integrity of your own team. Wtf man.
There's not a snowball's chance in hell that we'd tank I don't reckon.

How quickly some forget. Dixon played ruck when we played gws last time around, when he went off injured, it all went downhill from there

Dicko will be better around the ground as a Ruckman against the GWS back up ruckman, look for Dixon to be a link and target in the middle. I like Brennan at full forward, can be creative and if he is going to make a mistake, make it deep forward, is a good one on one grab and a hard match up.

Anyone want to discuss the actual lineup posted?

Brennan at FF could be massive.
Horse in the mid.
Magin and Hickey listed as emergencies, I can see Hickey being called into the side to replace Swallow or Stanley with Caddy taking Swallows role and Hickey swapping with Dicko in the ruck, or a 3 person rotation with Dicko up FF, Brennan off and Hickey up in the ruck, then back to starting.

Stevie May taking on some kid named Andrew Phillips being bled out at FF with a whopping 2 goals to his name all season. I reckon May will take it to this kid all day, every way.

My biggest concerns is they didn't stick a mature body in to replace Hunt, who can B&C with the best out of stoppages and the centre. Aside from that, I think it's basically a 50/50, a mini GF and a must-win for our boys. Not an ideal situation.

This is the type of game we need a guy like Brennan to kick 100% from set shots and need a lot of extra hard work from the Matera/Shaw/Liam Patrick crumbers. Patrick should be on the wing, he offers nothing up front for my tastes.

No, you have misread what I said. It will be seen as tanking to the uneducated eye. The recent opinion as to what tanking is has been when a team does not put their best possible 22 forward

Regardless of what we know is good/bad/indifferent to the team, by not putting a designated ruckman into the 22 when we have 3 perfectly fit available will give the knobs ammunition, hence me saying it will 'look like it' . . . Suggest you re read the opening line of my post before you go throwing questions to my integrity in there! "I hope so, because regardless of what the truth really is,"

Ya really think i'm gonna travel a 6000km round trip 9 times a season to watch a team that I believe doesn't wanna win?

My main issue would be fitness. If he can run a full game playing mostly in the ruck, his bigger body against some of the GWS' smaller mids will be invaluable, especially in Hunts absence.

I have no problem with Dixon and Brennan rucking on their own. Honestly, I don't think Hickey has the body to compete with Giles. Dixon at least has the mass to bash and crash into the main GWS ruck. That, and both Dix and Brennan have good second and third efforts around the contest to get their own hit-outs.

Dixon shouldn't have an issue with fitness. He has slimmed down since 2011, likely in preparation for this sort of job. Not entirely worried. If he gets too tired, just stick him at FF, and have Brennan take over some more.

I'm a little concerned about Izzy. We have Warnock and May down there. Warnock likely to take Cameron, May to take the resting ruck. But who have we got left in the back-line to take the mini-hulk? McKenzie is going to get destroyed if he gets that role. I'm thinking maybe Jeremy Taylor might swing back into McKenzie's role, just to handle Folau.

Also, don't underestimate Phillips. He has very, very long arms!

Still extremely worried about this game. Expecting us to lose.
