Cant work out why Laird is out especially given Sando suggested our defence needs work. The only thing I can think of is that the Hawks are tall up forward with Rioli out and theres no match up. I really don't want to believe that Laird is out. Yeah he got beaten several times defensively but all of our small defenders did, even Brent 'TWO MORE YEARS' Reilly. His tackling is the best I've seen from an Adelaide player and after looking a bit shakey against Western Bulldogs, I think he proved against Carlton that he knows how to find the ball and use it effectively. There's so much there to work with and a whole host of players who actually deserve the axe!

Confirmed on FiveAA that Laird is out. **** OFF AFC. I have zero faith in the selection committee anymore. They have mucked up selection pretty much each round of the season thus far!

I agree wholeheartedly EC but the supposedly corked thigh might save them from too harsh a judgement this week.

At least we know why Laird is omitted - would have been shocked if it was because of under-performing, but injury makes sense.

Not happy with McKernan or Porps being included. Porps should have been forced to play at least one week in the SANFL to prove that he's learned his lesson and is prepared to work at 100% again, instead of cruising along at 60% of capacity. Would have much preferred to see LJ selected instead of McKernan. I've seen enough of him to know that he's not an AFL standard footballer. At least LJ is something of an unknown quantity at this level - I'll take an experiment over confirmed failure any day of the week.

At least Lyons is rewarded for outstanding form in the SANFL over a prolonged period.

Love Lyons and McKernan in. Smack offers a whole lot more options then Johnstone does.

Smack can ruck and Forward LJ cant. A forward line of Jenkins and Smack height wise is hard to line up on. And considering we like bombing in long, will be helpful.
