Danger is getting the heavy tags this year. That sums up most of these things about how he hasn't been as good this year.

Off topic I guess but can someone direct me to the Stat site that shows things like rating a teams 'Run and Carry'? I read somewhere we aare rated 16th.

I think Carl's point is, for everyone bagging Dangerfield, he's obviously still doing pretty well because he's the guy opposition coaches are tagging.

If he was doing as bad as people are saying, Douglas or someone else would be getting tagged instead.

yep, and also that Douglas standing out as playing well is a symptom of the lack of form of the other players. If our guns were up and about and playing to their form last season, then Douglas would merely be a contributor in a good side.

good on Douggie for pulling his weight though until the others are back to form.

Danger has 6 Brownlow votes. Best out of form player carrying an injury in Adelaide history
Not sure if he has 6 votes, but he would probably be leading our votes. Whilst his form has been not as consistent as last year (relying more on matchwinning bursts with the injury), it is other players who are not pulling their weight which is the problem. ie. Sauce, Mackay, Vince, Wright. Too many passengers, which is why it has been good the club is trying Kerridge & Lyons.

If his form is up, were you bagging him last year for his lack of form? I was - solo.

And why are people shying away from this? If his form is so good then he will start getting tagged. That's what happens.

Good, match-influencing form = opposition attention.

I don't really "bag" players and I wouldn't think I was awesome because "I was the special person who bagged player x last year".

You can't tag everyone. Douglas is never going to be elite like Dangerfield, if we had a team full of elite players we would win the grand final by 20 goals. Thompson and Dangerfield are better players than Douglas and will get the attention, that doesn't mean that Douglas is playing shit. What you're essentially saying is if he's not the best or second best midfielder then he is shit and not influencing the game (because he doesn't get a hard tag).

Hes been just about our best and most consistent mid fielder this year. He's a former B&F. The problem is, do you think an opposition coach has ever raised his name as a player that needs to be tagged?

Tagged? no because there are elite players which need a tag before Douglas does. If Dangerfield got loose he could rip a team to shreds. Douglas isn't going to rip a team to shreds. However, you'd be kidding if you thought opposition coaches haven't started to talk about Douglas and his form in their match preparations. That doesn't mean he'll cop a hard tag though, how many tags can you run?

Absolutely. Unlike the majority of our midfielders, Douglas is at least pulling his weight. When we have a star getting sat on by taggers, the other mids should lift their work rate to ensure the opposition players have to pay attention to them as well.

Douglas is one of the few actually doing that, though.
