In Clarke, Ibbotson, Silvagni Out Fyfe, Dawson, Hannath

Need some extra height in the backline so Sutcliffe moves into the midfield or starts sub. Clarke in to somewhat make up for the loss of run resulted from one less mid. De Boer into the middle on occasions along with Walters.

Hale, Gunston and Roughhead. Johnson, MacPharlin and Silvagni.

And if Spangher comes in? I know he's a spud but still needs marking up. Still think we'd do better with Ibbo as the spare man back there even if they go in with one tall less than their normal set up (they've played O'Brien first few rounds).

I had a read of their thread and got the impression they are certainly giving us respect as an opponent. They are taking the piss with Lyon but so what. We do the same here with other teams.
I had no problem with what they said about Lyon. Didn't ever post that I did? My posts they were mainly about the game and disagreeing with them re kicking only 12-15 Saturday night. They thought we only kicked 12 v GCS due to game plan, I said the weather may have been a factor.

It would be nice to be able to bring in one of our spare big bodied mids, ie Mora or Sylvia, for Fyfe. I suppose it would have to be Sylvia at this stage. Is he fit?

Fyfe - Neale
Hannath - Clarke
Dawson - Silvagni

Neale to be sub.
I agree with this, but with one more change Ibbo for Suban. I know some will disagree, but I thought Suban looked short of a gallop against Gold Coast. Ibbo comes into 21 in my view, with Sutcliffe as sub and Neale also in 21 with De Boer playing more midfield and Neale rotating forward mid.

Ibbo's had less game time than Subes .Suban stays for grunt
Ibbo comes in to play on Gunston. Sutcliffe and De Boer to mid ,Neale as sub and maybe Clark in for Hannath for more mobility to run with Roughy when he goes on the ball
Hale is the hard match up when he goes forward.Johnson maybe?

You know what. I just have this weird feeling that the unthinkable may happen. We need a mid that breaks tackles, we need a mid that can float forward, we need someone who has played more than 25mins of WAFL.

In :Moooooorrrrraaaaabbbbiiittooooo

Think about it. Much better option than Sylvia.

No Simmo. Just no.

He's still a bit of a dolphin at AFL level. Pops up, does something great, then seems to disappear for a while in between. It's something he's been working on since TAC.

I noticed that in the Peel game against East Perth. When he got the ball he looked a million bucks and had a great 3rd quarter, but he just didn't get enough of it in the first half.

The Morabito in for Fyfe idea might not be that wacky. Probably not, i'd imagine Crozier or Neale will come in as sub. But they might take the punt.

Clarke's GF was still better than Hannath's last 2 games.
He is our 6th choice ruckman/forward (Sandi, Clarke, Griffin, Gumbleton, Bradley, Hannath) and our 2nd choice is now available. Surely it can't be easier to understand than that?

You are kidding aren't you? Ignoring the obvious wind up effort at saying he's our 6th choice when he's 4th at worst...Clarke will not play this weekend for Freo cos Ross has already said he need another week at Peel followed by efforts to break into the team.

It's not a windup effort mate. The role is primarily to play as a forward and chop out in the ruck. Hannath is about 6th on our list for that and his efforts in the first 2 games have been poor. The only reason he is playing right now is that 4 of our 6 ruckmen were injured. Zac Clarke is now fit. While he isn't much of a forward either, it would be difficult for him to do any worse than Hannath has done.

Key Forwards/Ruckmen take a long time to develop and the only reason that Hannath has played a single game for Fremantle to date is that our ruck stocks have been decimated through injury. Nobody expected him to play until at least 2015.

The big sticking point is if they lose both Mitchell and Hodge, then we should be right even without Fyfe. Would be tempted to throw Sylvia in or maybe reward effort and give Neale a go. I think the later maybe the case. RTB did say just last week that that careers are lost and made on opportunity.

This could be Neale's shot!

Michie in for Fyfe? Strong bodied, quick hands and just hanging around doing nothing at the moment.....
