Interested in your thoughts on crozier then

Crozier is probably the most frustrating player - he was never in the category of 'oh yeh this kid will be great for us' (Fyfe, Mundy, Pav, Haselby, Hughes, Walters) but he does have the components like Sheridan to be a solid A grader and I always thought would come good in time. I thought last year would be it. This year he just has to keep playing and being given more game time (he seemed to be spend a fair bit of time on the bench against GWS from my memory at the game) to build consistency and confidence. He is mature and skilled and the ideal age for us to rebuild with, if he is going to come good with his role/reading of the play to get more possessions then we need to know one way or the other by the end of the year.

Worst case scenario is we decide to trade him but at least by playing him in the seniors for most games he may have some trade value. If we dump him back to Peel it will be a bust both ways. The players you might replace him with in the most have reached their potential.

Time for Crozier to produce something or move on we waited one year too long with Clarke.
I think it was tactical. We extended his contract to make him a free agent, hence a club can pick him up rather than trade for him. The club may think the AFL will give us better compensation than what another club is prepared to. Same with Mayne.

I guess they prolly go the distance.
As for Pav and Tas:Fly the family to Tas,hook'em up with salim and Reg shout'em some massive wine and oyster scoff-fest and let'em come back in time for Richmond, even if the bigfella jogs the Nully.

There are average suggestions and good suggestions but that is one bloody brilliant suggestion.:D

Out: Sheridan or Sutcliffe
In: Tucker

However, i doubt they'll throw him to the wolves twice in a month.

Out: Suban, Ibbo
In: Langdon, Tucker/Gey

Sheridan on a wing, Tucker/Grey down back. Blakely plays more in the guts and Langdon on the outside. Mundy also off halfback as the rebound specialist

Its going to be wet, cold and very windy .Tough ,tough conditions.:( I think I'd be leaving most of the youngsters home and sending the seasoned experienced bodies.
Oh yah , Salim we finally in the same term, but lyon said he want to play more youth against hawthorn.:(. My preference deboer, C.Pearce ,come in for sutty and sheriden.

If Ross really is happy trialling different setups I wouldn't mind seeing us really strengthening our backline.

Spurr - A Pearce - Dawson
Grey - Mundy - Hill

Sherro and Sutty are both out of form and out of position. Both have been disappointing so far this year. Neither of them will be capable of stopping Cyril/Poppy and niether of them are providing much run out of the backline. So bring in Grey as a lock down small defender as he is the only player on our list I would be confident in stopping Poppy.

Bring in Mundy as the third/loose defender and Hill off the HB. Two elite kicks working of the backline should yield some better ball movement coming out of defence. De Boer in to help out in the guts with Mundy going back. Walters to the midfield/wing similar to what he did in the Adelaide game.

Spurr - A Pearce - Dawson
Grey - Mundy - Hill
D Pearce - Barlow - Walters
Mayne - Tabs - Langdon
Crozier - Pav - Ballas

Griff - Neale - Blakely

De Boer - Weller - Sherro - Hughes

Out: Sutty, Ibbo, Suban
In: Grey, De Boer, Langdon

So much this backline, except Ibbo instead of Hill. I think Hill needs to play half forward.

out Neale ,on report from GWS game with striking Coniglio. Pav ,have a rest , Crozier drop back to Peel
In Tucker , Grey and Hannath .

In : C.Pearce, Hannah , deboer.
Just for fun.

Time for Mz's 100th game, and Clancee's 99th. Grey to play in front if his family. Smith to replace Pav up forward and give him a rest.

In: Mz, Clancee, Grey, Smith
Out: Sutcliffe, Suban, Ibbo, Pav

Unusual for the sporting cosmos to do us many favours, but as it happens the 'Western Force' have a bye this weekend.
I say send'em down.:thumbsu::cool:

No

If I have to go down to this game then so do the team! I'm expecting Fyfe/Sandi/Johnno/Bennell to miraculously recover & play then we're going to beat the Hawks and we're all going to have cake for my birthday. :rainbow:

My guess is we'll go with the extra ruckman and mature body grunt to try an expose their current contested ball issues and combine it with the controversial 'no forward line' policy:
Something like:
Out: Blakely (managed), Crozier, Sheridan/Suttcliffe
In: Clarke, De Boer, Langdon (so they don't like they're not going with youth)

Every young kid on the list that isn't injured, plus, a rookie upgrade or 2.

Wouldn't be against forfeiting... Tasmania, Hawks and the AFL can jam it. Only semi serious.

I'd like a continuation of what we've been doing.
reward those doing the work below.

Smith would be a case in point.
We need a second ruck, and a forward.
Leave Pav at home and play him

OK no Hannath so if we are going down the youth path , Collins so that Hawthorn can see what they passes on .
Collins would make a bit of sense because he would've played & trained with a lot of the Hawks forwards before. Insider information!

Hopefully the ex Hawks we have employed as coaches, give us the advantage we need.

Can imagine the meeting now...

Hale: Alright boys, this is how to slice up the Hawks. All you have to do is put immense pressure on the receiver when not in possession. As soon as there's a turn over and you snatch possession, quick amd accurate kicks to the corridor will open them up and allow run and carry at pace through the centre square. From there, lower your eyes and hit lead up targets in the 25m-40m range. No long bombs as they feed off it.

You guys got it or do you want me to go over it again?

Team: Lol, whatever bro. You look a bit like Frankensteins monster anyway. We're going to try bombing it long at every opportunity and see how that goes.
