Dawson at FF

the tank is on in earnest
It has previously been reported in BF that Dawson kicked 8 goals in one game for the Box Hill Hawks. That's enough evidence that such shift wasn't part of the tank.

Agreed. Needs a solid month at AFL level at least.

Very Unlikely. Unless he has an absolute blinder, which will be basically impossible given the ball will spend 75% of the game going the other way and the other 25% of the time being kicked over or on his head.

He'll most likely make way for Pav the following week regardless.

If he does a half decent job at giving Griff a chop out he might be kept on that basis as a fwd/ruck.

Collins, Clarke, Hannath or Smith
In order of likelihood in my opinion:
Collins - Smith - Hannath - Clarke

Fingers crossed for Smith. Don't mind him, although can be frustrating. However freo seem to attract frustrating forwards (Keplar, Waterhouse).
Collins could come in to play against some old team mates or something?
Hannth could come in because he's tall and that's the only reason i can see
Clarke could come in because he's be decent in the past but useless in the last few games, maybe his knee still worrying him?
If I had it my way... I would bring both smith and Collins. Give smith a shot IP forward. Make Collins one of the three talks on defence. Don't see why that suggestion would be a bad idea.

Not that it matters in one sense, but Hawks don't have a big fwd half, quite small actually and very mobile. Not the sort of game to go in with 3 genuine tall 'stoppers' (so to speak).

Still concern of the occasional injury. Still... Gunston is a formidable tall.

Excellent, let's do it then.

Collins to fullback, Dawson to full forward.

Seriously though, it looks like Tanner will get another opportunity in Tas, this time up the other end of the ground and ironically being coached by the guy that owned him last time he played there.

Maybe Dawson will be "managed" and Collins comes in for him?

Probably no worse time to come in, I won't take much out of this weekend but next weekend at home I want him firing.

Exactly and given Langdon was the best youngster for Peel it makes more sense to bring him in (and keep Hughes etc.) than reach for Tanner or Collins based one or two games. Richmond the following week have a lot of talls so save them for that and give them another week at Peel

No Barlow on the flight, Clancee Pearce & Zac Clarke amongst those travelling - fairly sure I was called a moron by a few for suggesting Clarke comes in, I don't think one ruck is a wise move at the best of times but against the Hawks is definitely not a great move. Yes Clarke is pi$$weak at times but he is the only option, Zac Dawson isn't a ruck and Alex Pearce we don't want to run in the ground.

Can we play Clarke ,Griff and hannath against hawthorn , then we are definitely tanking.

Ross said on 7 News on Tuesday night that Pav will miss this week but will definitely play the following week.
