Finally we give the defense a shot without Dawson, if it doesn't work then he obviously comes back in but honestly i don't think it will be too big a loss, our ball movement will be better out of the back half now.

It's time to move away from Dawson unless he improves his kicking and decision making, needs to be held accountable to the same standards as the other players and honestly this year he hasn't been shutting out other tall forwards very well this year anyway.

I can't say I hate the changes. What we need to see is who steps up. We have a bunch of youngsters now and many will get a run through the midfield.

If nothing else it serves as another wake up call.

Ballas came back to some form last week, but he'd be another regular on thin ice. Sheridan is young enough to persist with, but he needs a solid hit out.

I'd like to see a breakout game by someone regardless of the result.

He will get his chance, this game is more to see whether c.pearce and Clarke deserve to be in the team for 2017 season. As their contract expire end of 2016.

We are competition worse rebounding from D50, they are going to see how we go without the bloke in our 6 who refuses to kick. Every other team is doing it, being contrary is killing us at the minute.

Barlow represents the 'big bodied mid stoppage heavy' Freo. We're moving on.

It may just be the optimist in me but maybe they left Tanner Smith at home to get a shot at getting delivery from a Barlow led WAFL team then feed him to the wolves this week.

I reckon Ross dropped Dawson just because he thought it'd be funny. Dawson and him are probably taking bets on who melts the most over all this. However Zac probably has a nice vineyard he'd like to check out so Ross still put him on the flight. Great guy Ross, always looks out for his team.
