McCarthy needs to go back to Peel and earn his spot back with some compelling performances.

I am a big McCarthy fan and was actually encouraged by his performance last year. He kicked 25 after a year out and was a multiple goal scorer 7 times. I expected him to build on last year (he didn't look very fit), and so I was thinking he would be good for at _least_ 30 goals and quite a few score involvements.

But he has been very disappointing. I'm not expecting him to take hangers in the hot spot -- he is more of a tall half-forward than a KPF. But I was expecting him to be fitter, to run harder, to link up more through the middle of the ground, and just to get more damn involved in the play.

He has plenty of talent. When he gets the ball on his terms he is a nice kick and can impact the scoreboard. But being an effective forward is about finding a way even when it isn't on your terms. To fight a draw 1-on-1 so the cavalry can arrive and you lock the ball in. To run to the right place even if there is traffic there and its going to be hard to get a kick in the congestion.

In: Bennell, Darcy, Sandi, Hill

So that would mean:

Out: Jones, Johnson; then two of Sutcliffe, Sherro, Giro, Hughes.

Bear in mind this is my PREDICTION, not what I would necessarily like to see happen, as I think it will be Giro and Hughes most likely to go out.

If Bennell did injure his ankle I think they’ll wait another week before they give him a run at AFL level

In: Sandi, Darcy, Hill, Brayshaw, Crowden
Out: Jones, Johnson, Sheridan, Sutcliffe, Tucker

******* lol that even the journos were asking Ross in the presser why Sutcliffe is in the team/on our list , Ross then getting defensive and claiming he will play next week.

Also even as recent as last year if tabs played anywhere near as bad as McCarthy has been playing he would of been crucified on here and dropped from the team. Kersten should be playing ahead of Cam atm
Happy to give Kersten another game this week.

You wonder how many goals Tabs would of kicked this game. He kicked 4 goals vs Essendon in round 2

Surely the Freo fans would like to see what Strnadica brings to the table over an out of form McCarthy?....

OUT

Johnson (See you in round 23 bud)
McCarthy (Two weeks in a row of absolute shit, get him out)
Tucker (Not playing 100%)
Jones (Only out because Sandi and Darcy are in)
Sherro or Sutcliffe (flip a coin)

IN

Bennell
Sandi
Darcy
Crowden? Is Brayshaw back this week?
Stephen Hill

Would love to see North play,

If Hugh Dixon hadn't been injured as much as he has been this season I'd rather he get a go.

I wouldn't be surprised McCarthy was dropped his form has been poor

Yep. If McCarthy can only get 9 disposals and 2 marks, Strnadica deserves a shot. Can't do any worse then that, at least we would be developing him

I know this has probably been discussed elsewhere but whenever Luke Ryan has an average game we lose. He’s such a barometer.

We're 9-19 during Ryan's 28 game career.

0-9 when he has 14 or less disposals.
2-7 when he has 15-20 disposals.
7-3 when he has 21+ disposals.

7-5 when he has 14+ kicks.
2-14 when he has less than 14 kicks.

I'm not against dropping McCarthy but we can't play Sandi, Darcy and Strnadica all in the same team. It would be like Peel's forest up forward. It wasn't really surprising that Peel performed a heap better on the weekend when they only had two rucks not three playing.

Would be close to the mark I would think if everyone is available.

I think they may rest Giro (who has been impressive) just on the basis that perhaps he is showing signs (poor disposal) of needing that rest.

Crowden perhaps even more than Bennell has been on fire in the last two games and must be close to returning which is great news as well.

Ross strangely seemed to indicate at his presser that Sutcliffe is in the team next week.

Can we at least beat hawthorn for peats sake. It's not too hard to ask all the pain they have dished out over the years to us it would be nice to beat them for once.

Brisbane managed it twice this year so surely we could manage it at home.

Does anyone know if burgoyne is back next week

Burgoyne will be playing this week for Howe (susp)
JOM will be in for JOR (omitted)

In
Sandi Darcy Bennell crowden Brayshaw (if fit)

Out
Jones Johnson sheridan sutcliffe Giro (Rest if Brayshaw is fit)

I’m happy for him to stay..we are rubbish going forward and don’t do him any favours kicking to our big blokes for the majority of the measly 30 or 40 odd entries each week.
