Liked a lot of Tunbridge today, his kicking was very good and can be a real weapon and his contest work was good. Must stay in side for me and should be right with MRP as the GWS player was fine.
I just watched the replay. Didn't look like a sling tackle at all. Just took him to ground like 50 other tackles you see per game. Will be a joke if he gets weeks for that.

Wouldn't mind seeing Schoey getting dropped. Thought he was pretty poor from what I saw. Tunnels game I thought was good. Improves as it went on. Always seems to be his problem, has a good game then gets injured or in this case suspended, and he will be suspended. For the afl website to already have an article up about it. Trial by media. 2-3 weeks.

Just watched the highlights package. I was one who was a little confused by Butler's selection ahead of Nelson...

Butler was involved in a fair chunk of our goals, often winning a hard ball on the halfback line.

Not a lot of disposals with 10, also 3 marks, 6 tackles, 1 inside 50. But he's solid under pressure.
And winning the hard ball that got it forward in the last minute. Real crutch play, if he didn't do that there were no Naitanui heroics

Out: Any notion that this isn't indeed a disturbing Universe

I've also silently been a pretty big proponent of Tunners and that he could be pretty useful if given any continuity.

He fumbled a bit today which isn't ideal, but more importantly showed he has some pretty damaging weapons. The fumbles will be ironed out as his confidence grows.

You've got to be pulling the piss with this comment. He was instrumental with getting us back into the game in the second quarter.

Tunbridge had a horror first quarter, mistakes galore. Second quarter was reasonable but vanished in the second half. He wasn't our worst but coming off two completely underwhelming games he needed to show way more. Yet to see any sign he has an AFL future. Even though his tackle wasn't malicious he'll get suspended for the outcome so the match committee won't have to decide.

The sling tackles that get suspended are when the arms are pinned and player driven into the ground with 2 actions . Tackle then dump

Tunners was 1 continuous spin and kennedy (Gws) action of getting the kick away was the momentum that made his head hit the deck .
It was just a good hard tackle that was unfortunate to have that result .

He also had 1 arm free and the ump was going to call HTB if he didn't get a boot on it

Re: Tunbridge incident, arms weren't pinned, didn't lift him, just a standard tackle for mine.

Schofield's mobility makes him very useful, but I wish the club would explain to him the importance of ensuring he doesn't let the ball spill behind the pack when he commits to spoil. Costs us a goal or 3 a game.

His first wasn't great but I donno if I'd say "horror". He was one of our best in the second though and did some good things in the second half.

I feel like too many people on this board are like "Judd or GTFO" when it comes to our young players.

I'd like either Nelson or Duggan in for Tunbridge. I don't think Tunbridge deserves any more games with WCE. He just hasn't shown enough.

Hill has been great all year.

Lycett has been a big let down and Sinclair would have been an upgrade.
Sinclair. He had one good season and has hit his peak.

I don't get why people remember him so fondly. He was a good mark at times but that's about it.

i have been on tunners back in the last 3 weeks but i have to give him credit where its due. Confidence can go a long way and it showed today. he was a lot let fumbly once he made an impact. He is a true utility and tbh can be more of an asset than hutchings going forward. He is an impact player and i think he could even do lecras role. I know he was being developed as a mid before but HFF/wing with a stint on ball could really work for us. Unlike darling in the middle, he attacks the footy. I think he deserves the to stay on the list for one more season. Hopefully no more injuries. I think yeo though has to go into a wing/hb role now cause our forward line would be too tall. The glimpes i saw today has been better than hutching at his best tbh.

Are you actually serious? Tunbridge showed heaps today. Provided good contests in the air, showed some strength both in tackling and breaking tackles/fending off (something this team desperately lacks) and had some absolute bullet passes.

If he plays like that more often he could be a very important cog in this team.
spot on, that quality disposal going forward is something we need to improve. Turnbridge has weaknesses but his kicking and decision making is good. I liked his game although he fumbles a bit early and I think thats just getting use to AFL level. If he gets more comfortable with it I think we might have found that forward link player we need.

if not it shows today how important finding a good skilled composed player on a forward flank that can actually pin point passes to our forwards. most of the time that is the difference between winning and losing.

I don't think we can replace a guy like Tunners with a guy like Jetta
If Tunners is out then either Nelson or Redden comes in.

One of these two must tag Mitchell and if Simpson doesn't put a hard tag on him I'm going to lose it big time.

Our zone defense was very loose yesterday and Hawthorn will rip us to shreds if we play the same way this week. I really believe thiz zone team defense is poor, lazy and weak football.

I agree. His biggest problem is lack of confidence, hopefully the coaches can help him with this. They were happy with his efforts yesterday. Only suspension will see him out of the team.

Our defence did extremely well yesterday.

We were weak defensively from half forward through centre. Too many half arsed chases, and witches hats in the middle of the ground.

Our last line of defense did well. Schofield, Barrass, Butler and Sheppard.

On a couple of occasions Lobbe and others took marks almost unopposed though.

The zone defense 30m out to half way was very poor for a lot of the game. We were 15m+ away from the opposition who ended up with the ball being kicked to them. Hawthorn will decimate us if we do that again.
