Yeah I've thought about all those things as well but playing two lumbering rucks is simply not viable unless you are playing against traffic cones. You can't put that extra workload on to all your other players, especially when you have a young team.

Treacy was recruited as a KPF but he knows how to ruck. He was decent doing it in the WAFL the other week. Why would we have him rucking at Peel unless we were looking at it as a viable option?

We are also talking about a short term solution here. Once Lobb is back then you'd probably play all of Tabs, Treacy and Lobb in a forward line and it is pretty obvious that Lobb takes the role as the 2nd ruck. As others have said you'd only need him to ruck in the forward line. But if he and Sturt can carry their good form into AFL then maybe he won't that much as we'll have two players that are reliable i50 marks and set shots and won't have to rely on creating stoppages inside 50 to score as much.
As I said initially, although I'm not a fan of having Treacy in the ruck, I admit that the alternatives are hardly ideal either.

If he rucks for short times, displays some aggression and mobility, and doesn't get hurt, I'll be a happy campaigner. But if he gets injured, I know where to find you W2G ;)

Done deal. I'm actually more worried he hurts someone else and gets suspended again.

Can't wait for the melts when Treacy isn't selected this week
I honestly wont accept him not getting picked.

Apart from effort on the weekend, our biggest issues were as follows
1) Belted in the midfield contest
2) Darcy unable to provide a contest around the ground as a roaming CHF (who ****ing woulda guessed this one) due to being too slow
3) No third tall, mid-sized forward to provide a mobile marking option (and keeping the May's/Levers/Jones accountable)
4) Cox can not defend gorilla forwards

Fyfe can solve literally all three of these problems, just not at once. 3 is solved by Sturt, 2 can be solved by Treacy, 1 can then be solved purely by Fyfe.

4 is not an issue for this week

Not playing Treacy will be complete stupidity IMO

A lot of KPD have issues defending a gorilla forward when the ball is raining down from the midfield ad nauseum.

I'm worried that our defensive style cannot handle the quicker ball movement. A spaced forward line (using the entire forward 50 width) is deadly, I would take kicking to 1v1's all day.

Big issue was the defensive work from talls against May, Lever and Jones who racked up big intercept numbers

I am sure Fyfe added to our midfield would have made a significant difference.

Sure, but there is enough of a sample size to suggest Cox cant play this role IMO, plus, he clearly sagged off him WAY too much on occasions (it could easily have been 10 goals). It was my original belief he is best defending the 2nd KPF or as a 3rd tall with a licence to drop off and nothing has changed my mind on that.

Was an issue round 1 because we basically only had Tabs up there, was an issue round 3 because Darcy is incredibly slow and got beaten to the contest. Treacy who loves a contest would go a long way to solving this IMO, or was that also your point?

Cox and Ryan were both blocked allowing a gap on the lead.
If I had a team mate putting himself between my opponent and the midfielder running down the corridor I'd be able to mark inside fifty too.

We need to slow down the ball movement so we can run a defensive winger into the hole at the top of the fifty.

So I didn't see any of the Carlton game, and immediately deleted the recording when I got home, but that won't stop me from offering my changes.

In: Fyfe, Sturt, Treacy, Logue
Out: Schultz (concussion), Young (Hammy), Acres (omit), Meek (rest)

Conca replaces Acres in the midfield rotation; Logue replaces him.
Darcy goes back to No. 1 ruck with help around the D50 by Cox and F50 by Treacy.

many of the players may not have been home to see their family and friends because of covid. Did some of our players get to melbourne and switch off because they were reuniting with family and friends.

I was just commenting on the Carlton comparison. Also think all three of those names you put up are unlikely.

I'm 100% draft.
But if we could land them than we should? Idk about you but Bell has been pretty successful at landing the players our club has targeted. We have a list that needs to be cleaned out at the end of the year and therefore we have trade capital and extra salary space to entice players over.

Entirely depends on what we give up. For those 3 it would be plenty. I especially like Hill, but even he would probably cost us a late first now.

Also, clearing our list isn't going to generate trade capital. We have nobody that we'd give away that would actually get something in return. Best we could do is probably pick 60 for Duman or something. I also don't think our fringe players are an issue in the first place.

I don't think it is the way. It has consistently not worked. Even worse, our trading has been diabolical for ages and we were saved so many blushes with potatoes rejecting us (Cloak, Clark) and GWS being stubborn (Cam).

I just want us smashing the draft. We can worry about trades when our first rounder is in the mid-late teens but the core of the side is established.

Alright so I love all of these guys but if our club needs to than they are an option (all imo).
1. I don't think Darcy/Meek/Lobb can all survive as ruckman. We would get good capital from trading one of them.
2. I feel like we could also get a first rounder for Schultz as we already have Crowen and Switta.
3. If Hamlingn/Pearce/Logue can't stay on the park this year than maybe we could trade one of them.
4. And of course Cerra whether he leaves or not.

I am finding it hard to take you seriously given 2.
