I think tabs will play as well. I think it will match the hawks set up of 2 KPF and 2 rucks. They have Lewis, Koschitzke and Ceglar forward and Mcevoy in the ruck.

Well famous last words I know, but I don't have a problem with two rucks.

Both of our rucks are young. Let them work together as a team off the bench with brief forward cameos. I reckon having to play solo ruck at such a young age has been a big burden on Darcy and may be a possible reason for his injury history. We have asked so much of his body at young age (for rucks).

None of our available KPFs or KPDs are good back-up rucks. Sure Cox or Tabs can give a chop-out but both are off the pace in their rucking. Just let our key position players be what they are, and try to get a good performance out of Tabs at FF and Cox at FB. That is where their value to this team lies. (And lets just let Treacy play four quarters of footy. If he walks off un-injured with a couple of marks to his name, he has done his job on debut.)

Finally, I don't think big man size has been the problem. We have looked very flawed in Rd 1 and Rd 3. But not because we have played too many tall players.

I think McEvoy does spend most of his time forward, so yes.

Darcy getting selected to keep him happy but also getting matches into Meek in case he has to step into the number 1 role next season?
I know Sean is contracted til 2022 but I’m not sure that means a hell of a lot these days.

I hope the selections reflect the slog this will be. The weather suits hawthorn more but if the selections are good, and Darcy isn't being kicked to while forward, Freo can win this.

Darcy is actually pretty mobile and clean in the ruck. Did a great job against Melbourne when it was slippery.
The risk is Darcy playing 100% in the ruck. Meek concerns in that he is awful without rucking. Can’t mark nor leaps. He’s a liability around the ground

Watson will come in for Young you'd assume, which leaves Sturt. surely if the concern on him was match fitness, you'd play him in the WAFL ahead of making him the sub...
also whoever comes out for sturt is going to be the sub, by my count we have 23 players left to pick from given who's playing at Peel
