Love Howard up forward swapping ruck with Frampton. Throw Westy back.

I don’t get that.

Just play Westhoff Forward at FF with watts CHf. If it ain’t working separately Westhoff and Howard.

Blame the system, not the individual. With the exception of Jonas, every one of our players from that era - regardless of their age or position - has regressed to some degree.
Very true. Lobbe is now one of the worst rucks in the league, Trengove can't even play as a defender now, Wingard peaked at age 22, Ebert and Boak look finished and Hartlett is half the player he once was the rest retired. Is there any port player from 2014 that's still the same player today? (As mentioned apart from Jonas).

Robbie Gray.

Wingard is still an incredible talent, just more valuable in the middle.

Outside those three everyone else has gone backwards.

I have Grundy in my Ultimate Footy team - he's going to score a billionty points next week.

Yup I've had him as my skipper in UF pretty much all season and have reaped the rewards. After taking the minor premiership i was 9 points away from going out in straight sets. I need a fair game from Grundy the next 2 weeks.

I've just realised that the team that I had with Grundy in it got knocked out last week. I have a team in another comp though where my ruck is Sauce Jacobs, pitted against Max Gawn this week :persevere:

I like Charlie but I agree with Paul Roos on this one. Our forward line has been a total rabble with him as the main man, it can hardly function any worse without him. Think we rank 18th for scores per inside 50. Maybe we'll be a little less predictable without the big fella there. He's not exactly Tony Lockett. Love his passion and aggression but we pay him to take grabs and kick goals and to be honest he's not particularly good at either.

It is an important match to win because you deny Collingwood top four.
They can't make it just winning in round 23.
We played them recently.
You must target De Goey, who is their best player.
Also Pendlebury, who feeds the ball out. In the old days, he would break through the pack.
Thomas is dangerous too. A crumbing forward who plays front and square.
Best wishes to the Power.

Dude we are toast & now tanking for draft picks. Pass on the tips to one of our incompetent coaches.

Couldn't give a stuff where Collingwood finish, Winning should be secondary for these last 2 rounds.

We've got a lot bigger problems here, like what kids are going to help us in the next generation when all our old guys retire.

Yeah agree, Howard could be brilliant up forward, shown by his 8 goal game in the SANFL last year

Literally the only good game he's ever played as a forward in 4 years on our list and it was against the SANFL wooden spooners in a 120 point win.

Port will play in the finals
You will defeat Essendon in round 23, especially given Fantasia is injured.
There is a lot to play for.
Players like Bontempelli and Daniel played their hearts out the other day for the Bulldogs, only to deny North Melbourne the chance to play finals.

If Hinkley couldn't guide this list to even 1 top 4 finish since 2013 then there is no point just making up the numbers and getting embarrassed in week 1 of finals. The list we built hasn't delivered and we need to rebuild again. We've seen enough evidence over the last 4 years that we are going nowhere with this core group.

If we finish 8th, and Collingwood, 5th, we would meet them again at the MCG.

Couldn't disagree more. Dixon has the ability to be the best forward in the competition but our delivery to him is horrible, should be slotting 3 a week without trying. Every coach in the competition would like the luxury of having him.

I still think he can be a Harry Taylor type player where he can pinch hit up forward.

Ken was asked during the week about that. He said he knew there was no SANFL game and said SPP needed a "refresh" and they'd see how he goes in training. In other words he's saying that SPP would have a week off and come back in the next week.
i heard brad ebert on the radio over here 6pr, and he said that SPP had been down on form and below what was expected of him and what he expected of himself and that he'd be playing a couple of weeks in the reserves to earn his spot back in the senior lineup.

Ebert should be with him.

It’s hard to disagree with the idea that we could benefit with Dixon’s absence. I love the guy, but our forward half play has been so incredibly awful for years now, that maybe this forces a philosophy shift.

Wishing thinking at its finest, but at this point just about anything goes I’d say.
