ughYou can bet Thomas will be in.
This is yet another crunch game and we are in the shit...
Even if Ryder plays ( he says he is prepared to play through the pain) we are still a tall short (no pun intended) as we also have to cover Dixon. We either bring in a player like Hombsch to allow Howard to go forward or we pick Frampton and play Ryder forward. I think Powell- Pepper will play and Sam Gray seems the logical out, I would not mind giving Powell- Pepper a go in the forward line. He adds aggression and can kick more than 30 metres. Lienert is also a possibility up forward as he is 193cm and pretty mobile, he could possibly play the role that Watts has been playing and allow Jack to play out of the 50 metre area.
The ruck is not place for someone with a sore hip trying to play through pain as he is going to be constantly jumping against other bodies. If Ryder plays it would be better to use him up forward and Frampton in the ruck. If Frampton needs help there is always Westhoff and possibly Howard to take a turn.
There is a suggestion out of Alberton that we could go in with a short forward line with Watts our only tall but I am not sure that will work, we really need a second tall. I know El_Scorcho was being a tad sarcastic when he suggested that Ken will pick Neade and Amon but I have a horrible feeling that could happen.
As I think Ken has to try Frampton sooner or later and I do not think a partially fit Ryder should play, I will join the throng and nominate-
IN Frampton, Powell- Pepper, Hombsch, Bonner
OUT Ryder, Dixon, Houston, S Gray
Don’t want to belittle Ryder or his injury but now we are talking that he’ll play through pain this week.
Im wondering why he didn’t play through pain and stand inside 50 last week for the last quarter. Yes it may have made the injury worse but it would have possibly won us the match.
If he plays this week I’d almost be willing to bet he’ll be done by halftime and then we’re screwed again.

Hence the suggestion that Ryder should play in the forward line and not in ruck. If Frampton played in the ruck with Westhoff in support and Paddy went forward we might be more competitive. It would certainly be less disruptive.
Howard has to play back on The Big Texan (no not that one, the other one who actually is from Texas)
LolI see Polec has had a "all the money is going to Gaff instead" recovery from his "quit the club" injury.
We’ve gone way to defensive and it’s not working
Needs to change or people get sacked no matter what their contract says
We will lose way more than the payout figure in attendance
Let Ryder rest, why do we always suddenly care about winning games/finals when it actually disadvantages us or our players? lol
Because Ken will feel bad if we don't get there!
I guess with Paddy's injury it's manageable, so if we can just (snag) a spot in the finals he gets a fortnights rest, he isn't carrying a hammy or anything, sounds like its just manageable and annoying, just give him one of those jabs he got at Bombers and he'll be good to go.
I think selection hope day is broken but I have a feeling melt day tomorrow will make up for it!

Just spoke with Power captain Travis Boak. He's pretty confident injured stars Paddy Ryder and Jared Polec will be right to play against Collingwood on Saturday, despite not training today @AFLcomau
We all know Ryder will be named ruck with Frampton traveling emergency. Hinkley would rather play Ryder into the ground then play Frampton and get Ryder right. Had they done that earlier in the year (say against bulldogs) we may not be in the mess as he may have fully healed.
