Dixon or not, deciding to do things differently in attack is some kind of pivot in potentially the right direction.

By differently, I assume it's meant not in exactly the same ****ing way they've pivoted before.

It's just going to be the same thing but with smaller players.

“Obvious” that’s funny.... there’s been multiple games where he should have “obviously come in”

Guess we’ll find out if your mail is any good, named as ruck or emergency to come in as a late change ?
100% agree. Anyhow cue social media clip of Hinkley telling Frampton hes playing.

Poor Frampton, I mean. He could have come in to some fanfare when Ryder went down initially and "finally big billy gets a shot!". Instead he's greeted with "that horse has bolted" and assorted eye rolls and groans about how stupid our selections have been for not selecting him ages ago.

Way to make his debut a last resort rather than something to be celebrated, ******* shit coaching.
Just wait until he is absolutely destroyed by Grundy and Hinkley drops a sly "see he wasn't ready, in the post match presser".

We've got to be setting realistic expectations for Frampton this week. In reality we just have to hope he can basically blunt the impact of Grundy at the stoppage, and hopefully around the ground he can take a few grabs.

We've ****ed up badly here. If we'd debuted him earlier in the season either alongside Ryder or against some weaker opponents, he could've been eased in somewhat and given a taste of AFL before this week. But if you refuse to play a young ruck until you're desperate, then by definition that means that when you do bring him in you'll be bringing him in to a desperate situation which as a debutant he won't be equipped to handle.

Collingwood are just about the worst team in the league to debut a ruck against. Grundy will be AA this year, and even their backup ruck is a near 7 foot tall athletic monster of a man.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy though. If someone keeps saying you aren't ready, you ****ing well wont be. The comment from Jacko about beverage "trusting his players" in comparison to Hinkley is quite poignant. We severely over coach because there is no trust between the coach and the players. This is why we always lose the close ones. Hinkley doesn't trust them and they don't trust themselves. It's a vicious cycle and he's a very negative coach.

Interesting way to look at it.
I hope he does play and want to show the coaches he can, atleast he will have plenty to prove.

to me that comes back to having divisions and gold passes. you are too young, you haven't been around long enough, you aren't good enough yet. that guy is older and more experienced, so we'll give him first shot. this guy is too good for SANFL, we have to make the midfield work around him. that guy is senior, we have to build around him and extend his career. not picking on any individuals but the system they're ALL in, clearly too forgiving and soft

I have just fired up BigFooty. The last few posts indicate that Billy will debut. True or false?
It’s a complete no brainer. Billy for Charlie or Billy and Paddy both selected in the 22 and Billy to be the insurance policy (both resting in the forward Square when it’s their turn).
I’ve said this previously Fos and Jack would have played Billy when Paddy first went down, telling the lad that we believe in him 100% and that the club is right behind him. Perhaps a few choice words to be added to this gee up!
If Billy makes the 22 - go Billy!! Why am I still doubtful?

I think we were too scared to gamble with Frampton on the games that we should have one. A few backfired on us badly and in hindsight, should have played Frampton.

cant wait to watch us bomb away on short people heads this week.

IF it makes us lower our eyes and hit leads ill be stocked. but you know it wont
So true. I’m convinced the players are/we’re doing it on purpose to prove a point over the years about not having a third tall forward.

Does Hinkley not trust the players or does he just expect the trust to be earnt?

We have lost two games because our ruckman could not see out a game. Feels like domeone is taking the piss on this. If Ryder plays and does not see out the game again, and it costs us the game again, disappointment will not describe it. I simply do not trust Ryder to see out a game.
We're the same with moore

Jack Watts:

“We’ve probably got a few options we can move forward, even if Justin Westhoff comes back forward or Dougal Howard can play forward,” Watts said.

“If Paddy plays, or even if he doesn’t we can bring Billy Frampton in so we’ve got a lot of options.

“My role, I might play a bit more time deep, which will be nice but at the same time I’ll still play up the ground a bit and try to get the ball in the middle of the ground and connect us going forward.”

Grundy will destroy Ryder with his current body issues. So Im more inclined to have Frampton go up against him and try and be as physical as possible (almost a tagging role) and then have Ryder as an advantage up forward

I'm actually more ok with Billy Frampton playing if Ryder is still in

Ryder is no certainty to finish the game even if he does come up. Someone has to ruck the other ~50% game time.
