Don't disagree, but to drop him and bring him back after no seconds form is interesting.

Hombsch went out because Howard recovered from injury and came back in because of Clurey's injury. It wasn't form related.

Yeah but let's face it, his performance against Adelaide was a horror show.

I was about to make a post about us not having any other options for his position so we were forced into recalling him. And then I remembered Billy Frampton hasn't played a single game of AFL football this year despite Ryder missing 6 games. So who the **** knows.

Frampton had to be at least named on the bench. Ryder may very well come up for the start but even if he plays the game out he would be rucking at less than his best against Grundy. This is one of those games where you cannot say an 80% Ryder is better than a 100% Frampton. We should have both, Frampton to wear down Grundy and Ryder to jump over him. Grundy is the kind of ruckman who the other ruckman needs to be stand, his disposal average for this year is 20.45. And he averages 38.5 hitouts, with 140 in the last three games. With Clurey out I can understand Hombsch in but with Dixon out what is Bonner going to do? I would have thought SPP would be the better option to shark clearances from Grundy's taps.

And Westhoff could float back to support Howard and Jonas (if required - Collingwood's second 'key forward' is Mihocek), with Watts anchoring the forward line, etc.

Not to mention that with Dixon out, Ryder's chopout will be Westhoff, which will leave Jack Watts as our only tall forward, and Jack is historically far better as a second or third tall. And if Ryder goes down again then we're stuck with that forward line for the rest of the game. Frampton just had to be picked this week. Had to be.

You noticed that too. Smells of stuff behind the scenes maybe. Prepared for long ago just I case.

In his Norwood Oval bunker.

This reminds me of the time Choco decided to trick Mick Malthouse in a final by playing Che Cockatoo Collins as a key forward and Tredders as a decoy. Lost that game by a heap.

KT will make an appearance next weekend with a letter from the CEO encouraging everyone to get to the final game and support our charge to the finals. By then the rest of us will have resigned ourselves to the fact the season is over though anyway.

I'll be at the game next week, quite possibly to get drunk in town afterwards. :drunk::drunk:

Add to that Ryder resembles an extra for the Walking Dead this week....

Can’t wait for this at the 14 minute mark of the second quarter

Spare a thought for those of us who bought flights to Melbourne to see it a couple of months ago when we were 11-4 :(
I drove over via Canberra for the Carlton game.
Barrel of laughs. Cold wet n windy we won on the back of 10mins of footy. The scoreless 3rd qtr was riveting.
