Mzungu is an important cog in our structure. It's not just his possessions, he also provides pressure and a gut running ability to fill space. He is a role player. We need him. Replacing him with lower is the wrong decision. Lower is an inside mid, who does lack top end pace. He would not be able to operate the role Mzungu was playing.
KPR = glue snifferSt
Strongly disagree. He runs hard, has the desire, but he can't stick a tackle, he burns the ball more often than not and in general is a liability. Should have played for Perth most of this year, horrible footballer.

A number of our players could be in that situation still doesn't change the fact that he's best 22 at the moment.Yeah Righto, he will be nowhere in a year or two when we have built some midfield depth
Uncalled for. Especially after such a good day.Out:

I will not bother finding the stats, but i'm sure mzungu would feature predominantly on the tackles list. he is a great pressure player. He is not in the team for no reason. Lyon would have watched our games from multiple angles and studied just who is contributing what. It would follow he's in the team because he is indeed contributing whatever metric Lyon has devised for mzungu's role.
If mzungu is out, who is left to replace him with? We have no one with the speed and running ability he provides.
He tries to tackle and no doubt gets the stat for it, but they never stick, as to your final point.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for a stat to be recorded under "tackle" in the AFL, the ball must either:
1. Lead directly to a throw-in/ball-up/HTB; or
2. Go to the opposition.

Spurr was worst for us today, another couple of kicks missing targets badly which led directly to Kangaroos goals. He's a hard one to judge, does alot of good things, then has a couple of costly brain fades.
I really don't get why some people feel the need to name a worst player. Especially after a win and particularly if they can't get it right?
Spurr;
Ninth most disposals
Ninth most contested possessions
Sixth best disposal efficiency with 83%
Sixth most marks
Third for contested marks
Fourth for clearances
Tenth for tackles
Sixth for clangers (the same as McPharlin and Balla)
not even close to being worst.
No one was bad. No one.
