If we grab 8th and take on west coast (50/50), odds are we'd have collingwood next up who would be my preferred opponent from the top 4 (60/40), but we might be a bit flat from the derby.

If we grab 6th and take on geelong at home (70/30)
If we grab 6th and take on north at home (80/20)
If we grab 7th and take on geelong at skilled (50/50)
If we grab 7th and take on north at etihad (70/30)

The second game from the above would be against either adelaide or sydney - with their game being a bit of a contested bruiser. I'd give us a 50/50 from the outcome of their game.

No finals played at Skilled . In Melbourne it is only Etihad and MCG.

too late , i should have looked further down the thread.

Unfortunately for Grover he will not play finals, and will not get a game this week. Many ahead of him that come into calculations. He will will be at the game though and probably get some time to reflect. He knows the deal.

I will have to accept the fate of Kepler. Although we play better with him in the team, and he does those things which lift the team, natural ability has probably surpassed him. Truthfully I was hoping Clarke would be miles in front of where he is at the moment, but certainly his best game of the year in terms of defensive attributes at least

I reckon this :

Play Pav, Clarke, Griff and Kep. Let Pav kick 10 and win the Coleman, and see who can take the most marks, tackles and hit-outs, letting Sandi and Fyfe having a rest, before finals.

I don't think either Sandi or Fyfe need (and certainly wouldn't want) a rest - Sandi only 2 games back and another game will gain even more match fitness. Question is Fyfe - his ankle and whether he needs it. Risk going very tall and rest a young mid? Don't want to f$#k with form though.

Sandi has struggled stringing games together for a couple of years (like he has these 2 weeks). He was rushed back for the sake of Griff getting injured. Of course he could be rested and keep what ever routine he has done before playing - just keep it going. Fyfe still plays brilliantly but I think he could do with a week off, just watching the game you can see his brain operating much quicker than everyone else, but he seems to hold back a slight bit - and still have time to get the ball. Worth consideration against Melbourne. If in dount 5% I would rest him.

I am sure I am wrong, but just putting it out there. Do not be surprised if I am right - it has happened once or twice before (that I am right - not often, but it has happened).

I really don't think Ross is likely to rest anyone who is fit to play at this stage of the season. I really think we're better off pushing hard for P6 and a home final in our own right, regardless of where WC finish.

In terms of outs, there is no way Clarke gets dropped after his performance on the weekend... No matter how much any of you love big Kep, he copped a hard knock and will be touch and go I would think in terms of fitness, and given Pav trained today, I don't think Bradley plays this week.

IN: Pav, OUT: Bradley

Were you at training yesterday, or is this based on media reports?

If you went, could you give us some info on how some of the young lads were travelling? (ie. Pitt, Croz, Forster) How is Michie going? Anything would be good, tah!

Pavlich said he trained on Tuesday during the Channel Ten interview.

Tuesday? Who uses days - Pavlich trained on T1

Reminds me - wonder how the 1st year boys went on their 2x 3km last week

Gotta love the enforced work/standard ethics - the 100% effort attitude will become ingrained in them

The emergencies named for this one should be pretty interesting.

Got a feeling if Geelong get over Sydney we could see all three come in for anyone Ross reckons could do with a rest.

I can see an argument for different approaches for round 23. One is that we get to practice some strategies for finals with a full list. The other and more appealing to me is to not risk the final round with players that have niggles. We still have potentially 5 games left. This could be 2 games left. Who knows, all I do know is that you do not change the intensity or style of play, you can control the selections. If one of our key players got injured in this game then suddenly finals become that much harder.

I think giving some players a crack at this point is a bonus. It will all be dependant on what happens prior to the game on the weekend. Tough call indeed. The reality is that this round may be the one that primes us for the weeks to come.

Resting a few players, especially ones with genuine niggles, should not do anything to upset the momentum of the side. Especially if they are the gun players like Fyfe and Pavlich. These guys are a class above the rest, and don't need some meaningless hitout against a WAFL quality side to prepare them for a final.

If we play Fyfe or a hobbled Pavlich and they aggravate their injuries, I would be furious.

Love to see Sheridan get a run before the season ends. Has shown plenty at WAFL and be nice to see how he handles the bigtime before putting him back in the shed till next year.

Treat em mean, keep em keen.

All these talented rookies will be as keen as mustard during the Pre-season to prove their worth in getting a run.
