Preview Changes v Melbourne Rd 4, 2022

The club has gone so all in on Ken this week, that these are going to be safe selections*. No Hayes or Pasini for a debut. The only non-safe part of the selections is they'll rush back underdone players in the hope they get through the game, not concerned that long term that could damage the player or team. They need an 'honourable loss' (even internally no one surely believes a win is possible) and will burn anyone to get it. Surely if Clurey or Gray comes back in and redoes an injury any shred of respect left from the playing group to the coaches is gone.

Hinkley confirmed Tom Clurey would play against Melbourne on Thursday night but star veteran Robbie Gray would miss due to the health and safety protocols.

He said Gray would come out of the 'protocols' on the day of the game but it was too soon for him to turn around and play on the same night.

Bit concerned with Clurey being rushed back in against the tall Melbourne forward line. He'll get a bath. Not sure we had other many other choices though

Gawn and Jackson? No wuckers...

UNTRIED ruckman Sam Hayes is "close" to his AFL debut. "We have said this for a while with Sam," Hinkley said. "At the moment, we feel the one ruck (with Scott Lycett) is still what we need to go with. We are growing Sam and will continue to give him more education, even as a forward."

NO regret in trading ruckman-forward Peter Ladhams to Sydney at the end of last season. "We make these decisions based on our future and long-term success," Hinkley said.

Clurey for Skinner the only change.

hahaha nah, only one change to a team who lost to one of the worst fielded 18 i've ever seen.

motlop...... bahahaha c'mon man. speechless if this is so.

Expect our run of low scoring fourth quarters to continue as Gawn & Jackson grind Lycett into the dirt.

Also expecting Lever to have a blinder, running around like an unregistered dog. Good luck #HotToddy beating Lever & May, whilst also filling in for Lycett when he has a rest. God speed.

Honestly not sure if ANY changes in or out can or will impact the outcome. Would still like Hayes to get a run and against Melbourne's rucks he might have been handy but I still think we would lose.

Ah well.

I'm sure Ken has factored this into his plans. Ken?
