Keays Walker Green
Lester Schache Mayes

Robinson Bastinac Christensen

Rich McStay Hanley
Gardiner Merrett Andrews

Fol:Martin Zorko D.Beams

Inter: Robertson Matheison Bewick Cutler

Out: Bell Paparone Taylor C.Beams Harwood

In: Mathieson Robertson McStay Andrews Cutler

Mayes to the midfield/HF
Rich and Hanley to HB

Andrews for Paparone, he's a bit of a nothing player, I'm really not sure what to do with him
Robertson would offer much more than Bell is at the moment and deserves his shot
McStay should come in for Beams as a HB, he's got a very good kick and is much more mobile than Beams
Cutler for Harwood who has a rubbish disposal, I am baffled as to how he gets a game at AFL level
Matho for Taylor, I don't think there is any argument there.

Those are all like for like changes that would improve the team in my opinion.

I think its time for a team 'honesty session' get it all off their chest.

I think Mayes should be playing in the midfield.

Play all the junior mids in the midfield and play the experienced mids as back flankers. We will lose but maybe they will then understand how it feels to have the midfield second to the ball all the time.

What is with this Gardiner hate? he's been our best defender this season, he's shut down every single opponent that he's been given
Yeah
I 100% agree there
Watch his game and see what he does!
You cannot question his work ethic
He primarily played on Fasolo last night and kept him to around 13-15 possessions and one goal.
That's a win for sure.
He is tough, aggressive and passionate about his game and takes on his role every week to the best of his ability.
He's often taking on players that have 3-4 inches on him and does very well.
We need more with his character!!

I deadset reckon we should push Keays into the middle. He was fighting hard last night

I think Mayes is turning the corner. Definitely being played out of position but he seems to be going when it is his turn to have a crack, which has not always been the case.

Please play Hanley as a half back.
Please keep C Beams away from the seniors indefinitely.
Josh Green...what has happened to him?
Paparone is not a defender. Put him on a wing and tell him to run all night and provide a link up option (Yes i know last night was extenuating circumstances and he wouldn't normally play on forwards that big).

I can't believe I am even thinking about football after last night's performance

Who would you take out of the midfield? There isn't anyone else really banging down the door. My selections were more about who played exceptionally poorly.
Rich,Hanley and Bastinac. ..Keays, Mathieson and Robertson go in.

Got a feeling Matho, Robbo and Evans will all get a run this week.
Yeah I agree and you could add Dawson in there aswell, its time to crack the whip a little and give these guys a chance, they have been pushing in the seconds with no reward, Leppa just sticks with the same old same old.

If we don't experiment this week I honestly don't know whether I can bring myself to watch, but knowing myself as I do I will.

3 things I want to see this week:
- Throw Paparone and Mayes onto the wings and allow them to press forward.
- Put Rich (and Hanley if he is able to play) back on HB flanks so we have some attacking flare of the backline
- Bring in some contested ball users like Matho and Robertson (and possibly Evans)

Club has to experiment this week. Go all out as we have nothing to lose now. If they don't then I might, no, I will lose my last bit of hope for Leppa.

That said, I love this thread, every week.
Every second post;
Out: an under-performer, a role player but underrated by poster and 1 injury.
In: A very average NEAFL player, a rookie lister and an injury listed player.

Until any of the girls Lions players prove themselves that's all we've really go to go to ain't it?

Hard to know what the right call is on certain players given we don't have a lot to come in. That being said Green and Taylor while both quick players have underperformed this year, along with Claye Beams. The problem with Claye is until Tom Cutler is fit we don't have a direct replacement for him, so I think he'll keep his spot.

I'll assume D.Beams won't play.

OUT: Green, Taylor, D.Beams
IN: B.Evans, N.Robertson, R.Mathieson

Shift Rich to HB and I'd play Evans in a HF role, Robertson to take Rich's place and Mathieson to play inside in place of Beams.

My jibe was that people suggesting we bring in someone who is injured or under-performing at reserves level is a tiresome weekly occurrence.

Sam Mayes needs a midfield gig. Still believe he is the most talented player we have on our list to date.
