I agree. Seems to have some confidence in his kicking again, and was willing to put his head over the ball numerous times.

His kicking was far superior from any other player we had on the ground last night. Kept going and took the game on a bit in some instances. Hopefully can get a run there with Beams and Rockliff out. We could use a decent ball user going inside 50.

Revised team - Huge changes.

Paine. Merrett. Gardiner.
Hanley. McStay. Rich.

Robertson. Keays. Zorko.
Smith. Evans. Mathieson.

Lester. Schache. Bewick.
Robinson. Walker. Christensen.

Bastinac. Bell. William. Harwood.

Archie Smith in for Martin
Martin needs a rest. Playing horrible since bump. Terrible centre clearances starts with Martin.

William in for CBeams.
Much faster and dynamic. Hungry. Can't be any worse.

Robertson in for Mayes
Robertson is super hard Mayes is super soft. Robertson bigger, faster, fitter hungrier.

Paine in for Paparone
Paine strong body who is super hungry. Adds better spoiling at the moment than Paps.

Mathieson in for DBeams
DBeams injured. Mathieson is just the Beastmode we need in the centre.

Evans in for Taylor
Taylor is way out of form. Contributing nothing. Evans at worst is a big tackling body. At best will help our centre clearances.

Big changes need to be made..... Culturally our senior team is shot. Bring in some young hungry, desperate players who will at least battle hard.

It really is time for NRobbo and Mathieson now. We can't really get any worse by having them in.

This season is now about seeing who can show something and what game plan we can make work. Shuffle things around, try something new, give the best of the rest an opportunity then work out who is part of the long term plan.

like your lateral thinking, i would make one change to your suggestion leave mayes in was pretty good last night and take bell out shocking last 2 weeks.

Silly that people say they are sick of people being lazy but get rid of Gardiner. Yes he gives some frees away but he shuts down his opponents.

Imo, time to get rid of all the lazy players in our team

Out: Rich, Green, Claye Beams, Dayne Beams, Paparone (too easily shifted off ball)
In: Matho, Robertson, William, Evans, Paine

Which means no McStay, he can come back in when he shows his willingness in the 2's.
Rich is very lazy, time to go, until his output is better.

These ins will provide a contest and wont shirk the contest.

Wouldn't mind seeing Billy Evans get another crack along with Mathieson and Robertson. Maybe some ruck support for Martin but there's not a lot to choose from.

Much like last week there's a heap of players you could drop on form but there's not a lot to choose from. Both the Beams go out for mine and Bell just isn't good enough at the moment. If Hanley is carrying a niggle like it looks I'd rest him too.

Losing a fair bit of experience but I think (in theory) there's still enough senior support.

Agree but add Bell to the list as well and I'm not quite sure on the rookie elevation rules, my side would be depending on injuries

Harwood Merrett Gardiner
Hanley Andrews (R Williams if still injured) Cutler (Rich if still injured)

Martin Mathieson (Beast Mode) Zorko
Robinson Robertson Keays

Christensen Walker Lester
Hipwood Schache Bewick

Int: Freeman Mayes Bastinac Evans

I little tall but no one else deserves to keep their spot, and Hipwood is fairly agile, Mayes to play more midfield/forward.

D Beams long term injury list -> elevate R Williams for some run off half back.

not a bad side draftee, good to see some young talent coming into the BF community, look forward to future insights.

This is a big call but I would make no changes (apart from Dayne Beams who is injured)

My old footy coach use to say when a team doesn't give a Yelp and gets thrashed it's the players fault and when the team loses by less than a kick it's the coaches fault

Give all the players who played last night one more chance to redeem themselves

Go lions

They were on their last chance when Port smashed us by 70 odd points. Too many passengers on our team.

I deadset reckon he is the only one that gives a **** TBH.
He had 12 contested possessions from 16 touches. If Keays or Beast mode are going to play in the midfield then we need guys like Lester, Robo and Bell along side them so they develop.

I would normally agree except we already thought this after the Port game...

Underperformers will be dropped. Developing prospects like NRobbo, Matho and Evano should be given a good run in the seniors.

I hope they play them this week in the guts. Sick of losing contested ball. Hurts when you feel peronally you could almost do better.

I'm thinking of cutting green some slack, first run back from injury.
I have been disappointed with Martins output, bloke should not kick- ever, getting dominated in the ruck also

What are people's thoughts on the possibility of matho coming in off missing the last 2 weeks playing? And considering the time he was out for his cheek bone. Big ground in the G. I want him in as much as the next, just putting out there.I think he should have played in the 2s on the weekend rather than be emergency. The clubs choice in emergencies puzzled me. In hindsight you have 2 guys in need of game time and if there was no late change, they aren't playing consecutive weeks. As it turned out, Green played seniors when clearly underdone and Matho misses again.

INS:
NRobbo - killing it in the 2s, match fit and ready for a crack (always ready for a crack young Nick)
Paine - Our defence is terrible, Paine is doing well in the 2s. Bring him in & keep him in to see how he proves himself (or not) with an extended seniors run.
Evans
Matho

OUTS:
DBeams - injury
Bell
CBeams
Taylor

Paps and Green, first games back, shouldn't be cut yet. Shouldn't be hung out to dry after one poor match upon return.
Paps and Mayes pushing up forward
Evans and Paine down back
Robbo and Matho on the ball.

I'm not sure I agree with all the calls for Taylor to be dropped.

He's been played forward mostly, even as our deepest forward sometimes. With the midfield performing badly and sweet FA ball going into the forward line, what exactly have we been expecting him to do?

I agree, his effort hasn't been amazing... but he's usually A1 in that department. It's one of his strengths. When the whole team's pressure and contested effort has been so bad, it's pretty hard for a small forward to do their thing. It's also pretty hard for a third year player, who's one of the smallest in the comp, to put in huge contested efforts and bring manic pressure when 90% of the team isn't putting in. I just feel like it's a little harsh on Squiz to be getting called out for it. He hasn't been great, but not many have.

He's going to a super player and I reckon we should generally keep playing him this year. He may need a rest, maybe this week even, but he's one we gotta keep playing and gotta make sure re-signs. I don't think "some time in the twos" would have any real benefit to anyone.

If he needs a rest, sure, if not, play him.
