You wouldn't have to tell Nick twice, I give you that tip for free.
I am going to completely contradict myself here.

But seriously now is the time we stand up for that lion on our jumper and the letters on our back. I am not saying go out there and king hit blokes from behind because we are losing or because things arent going our way. But if any opposition player knocks us out, knocks us over and laughs at us. Stand up for yourself. Stand up for the people who do care about your club. If May had of done that 15 years ago to a young jono brown he would have left the ground a very sore boy. Yet we let him walk off the ground without a bruise (not even a ****ing corky). Last year he knocked our captain out. Again nothing.

Im hoping the standing up for this club starts thursday night. Leppa knows whats needed. I hope he has the ****ing balls to do so.

If that means we send a young matho and robbo to play some hard core old school footy then so be it. Win the ball. Hurt your man. Win the ball. Simple.

I've only seen Paine play once this year but he didn't look that good to me!
His not in the team because of form, he's the last man standing and the club need to give him a opportunity to determine whether he's delisted this year or we keep him.

I've noticed this a number of games especially this year and it might have been exacerbated because of seeing Melbourne players not taking any crap from opposing players and just further highlights their improvement let alone Wins and Loses. Maybe they're just not those types of players that we have on our list. Love a couple of 'white line fever' blokes like Robbox2.

Paine isn't a good player. But he is the last man standing and seems to be a good bloke who actually tries. Happy to have him in for a few weeks whilst some of our lazy players (who are just here for the hyper inflated contract) learn to put effort in back in the NEAFL.

It's Paine's last year probably. Only fair we give him a stint in the seniors in his new role as a defender to see if he's worth persisting with (they answer is probably no though).

You have already written him off. Which is probably fare on what we have seen. I wonder how many thought this of martin before he come busting out of the blocks.

Only 22. Im not ready to write him off yet. Has value as a rookie even if for next year (unsure of rookie rules).

I was expecting to get shouted down for my post. People think of it as so last century and semi neanderthal.

I watched rance tap watts on the back of the head and was blowen away by Vineys response. I absolutely loved it. I wish we had some players on our list that would stand up for one another.

When May cheap shotted Martin the little tiff was more Suns players coming in to protect May. Not any meaningful attempts at getting him.

2nd half against the Gold Coast we flew the flag very well I thought. Problem is we need something like that to get us going, Top 8 teams' that is their default mode.

I haven't written him off completely - well mostly actually. Much more likely than not he is just a nothing player. Nothing against him personally - very good bloke. Happy for the club to sign him as a permanent reserves captain next year.

And I'm all for putting him into the side for a bit to give him a fair evaluation. But I don't hold high hopes. Better off using the rookie spot for someone else next year most likely. Do hope he proves me wrong however.

You've seen how the seniors have been playing though, right?

Not the hardest team to break into.

Out: Green, Taylor, DBeams, Bell
In: NRobbo, Mathieson, West/Smith, Payne

FB: Gardiner, Merrett, Payne
HB: Harwood, Rich, Hanley
C: CBeams, Zorko, Bewick
HF: Lester, Christensen, Mayes
FF: Schache, Walker, Paparone
Foll: West/Smith, Martin, Robinson
Int: Robertson, Keayes, Mathieson, Bastinac

CBeams moved up to win some ball, play a bit in the mids. Mayes, Paparone into positions they have played well. Martin to have some midfield minutes. Keayes also to play some midfield time.

Rich copping a lot of criticism. A bit deserved but the big name I would have as first in line for a lack of effort would be Christensen. Huge downhill skier who only works one way and disappears when the going gets tough. Rich at least has been getting attention. Christensen simply does not care enough to try.

From where I was sitting he was one of the few actually cracking in on Saturday night. I'd have Rich, Hanley, Bell and Bastinac all in the firing line before him that's for sure.

Yep but further up the thread there are a couple of posts praising his play or saying what a great selection he is. He's not. He's a desperate, nowhere else to turn kind of selection.

Watch his defensive effort when the ball is not in his area. He is terrible.

Even offensively he was well below what he should have been with the plum role he has. He managed only 15 disposals and had 3 clangers in there. This board crucifies Harwood for his clangers but it worth noting that Harwood has only had 3 clangers in one game this year so far (against Collingwood as well as it happens). Over the course of the year Christensen has only one less clanger than Harwood.

Christensen is very much a seagull who will attack the chip when it is there and look good doing it but when the chips are not there he will sit around doing nothing waiting rather than going out and finding food for himself.

The problem with our team is that there probably is a few people who used to be reall good defensive runners but then they would look around, see players not putting in and running back with them and they probably think "**** it,why should l give my hardest if they arent?" and then stop trying as hard
