Did you get the "personalised" e-mail this week. It was laughable. The only personalised bit was that they had it starting off with David Koch saying "Hello, Michael", and he may not even have done that, voices can be changed with computers.

Hello Michael, followed by ` have you had a look at the cars offered for sale by our major sponsor Renault? ' or words to that effect.

Sounds to me like Renault may be getting a little nervous with the club's last two abysmal seasons, and their sponsorship may be under threat!

Let's hope that is not the case. :(

I hope not too, it really sucks how hard it is for us to get good sponsorship when cheating clubs like Essendon seem to have no issues. Koch and the board have worked so hard to get us in a better financial situation. How disheartening if it all goes down the gurgler now. I had no issue with the Renault personalised video. People get offended way too easily imo.

Not offended. Just thought it was a bit of a joke to call it personalised. I don't drive but the club wouldn't know that.

He didn't, but I'm making assumptions. He's my favourite player but with how he looked in his games, coupled with the desperate need to actually make some changes to this list, I think he needs to step down.
He should do the right thing by his health with two back surgeries and retire.

I feel the effort that went in to this as opposed to the effort that'll probably go into our own will basically be a metaphor for both of our seasons and for the next few years going forward.
If you want a bit of a laugh, go through this years' UPs on the Dees board. There's been some genuinely quality comedy and parody work this year, some of it worthy of the best of The Bay.

I had a quick glance at the Hawthorn one from this week, quality work. **** Melbourne, stop making me like you.

Was at the game today. Ins for me are Lobbe (JT back like someone suggested earlier), Bonner ha sto come in, Palmer and Toumpas.

I don't know who we drop???

I think there is a real possibility that Lobbe will play this week. That will not please many people but Kenny has faith in Matt and the Club would not have signed Lobbe to a four year deal just to have him sit on the sidelines. Lobbe only needed a good performance at SANFL level to show he has fully recovered and he produced that yesterday albeit against moderate opposition.

Then what happens after Lobbe comes in against Gawn and gets beaten soundly, offers us nothing around the ground and nothing in the air? Then the week after when Jacobs will once again use him as a play thing, what happens then?

Our footy club is insane, basically the definition of insanity is what we now are.

There must come a time when the club has to say enough is enough. When players never again get another chance at playing senior level for the PAFC, when we trade them or delist them at the first possible opportunity. At some point in time the club just has to say 'we are not good enough, our list isn't good enough, and we've given enough guys enough chances'.

Lobbe played SANFL last year and had insane numbers against Glenelg one night, most thought 'he was back' then too.

Lobbe isn't the only footballer not good enough but until the club starts moving forward, not searching the past, we will continue to be in this spiral of averageness.

Or maybe the club just doesn't really care anymore, maybe they are more interested in spin than substance these days. Hopefully I get to sit in wonder and watch Lobbe's showing what a machine he is against more 35+ yr olds.

If Lobbe comes in this week, so be it. He was in good form yesterday.

Truth be told, it's how Schulz should have been managed. He came in too soon and it has likely meant that we've seen the last of him at AFL level.

Meh Gawn will monster Jacko anyway and who knows if Lobbe plays a passable game or two it might at least garner some trade interest.

Plus Bonner for Krak and Snelling for SGray.
Let's see how the pups fare against bigger dogs.
S Gray is our current Matt Thomas with slightly more skill. He will not be dropped while we are 5+ players down and he puts in each week. Selection depends on who Ken wants to look at. Lobbe is worth bringing back even though it is against Max Gawn. Trengove monstered the clearances against Stefan Martin but it would be hoping a bit to expect he can do the same against Gawn. Especially when he was taken apart by Nankervis and Naismith. At least with Lobbe there is another big man to stop Gawn taking and directing all the taps. But the centre players will have to be on their toes as I expect most taps to go to Melbourne players.
I think in most cases we would agree, and Ken would as well, that although Mitchell got 44 touches in the SANFL he is not in line for a call-up. Mitchell's days were numbered once Stephen McBurney and a whiny Richmond supporter decided he was being too tough on Trent Cotchin and turned him off tackling.

Yeah it wasn't a prediction, just my wishlist.

I don't mind if Lobbe comes in as long as it's not at the expense of Butcher. By all accounts he played well for the Magpies on Sunday and deserves to be promoted.

We just have to reward form and Gawn will be an imposing force.
