It's a tough call between the two. Both are up and down with one on one defending. Hombsch was great defensively in 2015 but was rubbish in 2016 when forced to be our main KPD before doing his hammy. Clurey hasn't been great defensively the last two weeks - simply gets beaten on the lead and in their air too frequently and relies on Howard to air assist.

lindsay is a slight upgrade on Neade but id still rather AJ for the pressure he gives. I will be ready to tee-off on hinkley if we lose but since i actually saw a decent coaching performance from him against Richmond i have a tiny bit of hope. Melbourne are flakey when things dont go their way so lets just make it hard for them and smash-em in the middle.

This is one of those season defining games we almost always lose.
Just for once please win.
A chance to get ahead of a rival, put the doubters away and ensure the blowtorch is left on Adelaide for another week. Against a side that's just being well beaten and isn't as good as appears (easy kills).

If I had to pick a game that this feels most similar to prior, it's the Essendon game. It's just screaming out to me 'LOL PORTS INCOMING!'. The teams taking steps in the right directions, but it's going to have to win a few of these 'everything is set up for a win to mean so much' games, we've been dropping since the start of 2015, before I can really trust this side.

“From the point of view of the team, they said they couldn’t play Watts and young Todd Marshall in the same forward line."

No we didn't.

And they have played in the same forward line.

You make me spew up Terry.

Did Terry miss something from the back of the pub*?

*ie the pub he’s always shouting from the back of.

Did well against Adelaide and Richmond which are season defining. Hawthorn was umpired really bad and should have been ours. The only game we lost that we should have won. Agree that beating Melbourne is important. Bing it on I say

Clurey is a nice guy, not a bad bone in his body.

So perhaps he should watch and learn how to ram opponents heads into goal posts on the field, and remain a top bloke off it. Develop a bit of mongrel Tom.

PS "tongue in cheek, just joking, just joking".

Ins: Jonas and Trengrove
Out: Hombsch and Ebert

Tough call for Ebert but who else can be dropped to reward Trengrove?
Ebert > Trengove and Atley. The only reason we'd drop Ebert atm is due to having too many mids. Replacing him with a worse mid is pointless.

Would make more sense to bring in a forward or defender but I'm guessing we'll have like 1 change this weekend with Jonas coming in for either Hombsch or an injured DBJ.

I'd love to see Trengove come in, but I honestly don't see where he'd play now that we have Rockliff, Gray, Wingard, SPP, and Wines to play inside.

Ebert is the midfielder I've been most critical of, but it seems he has been moved to the wing where he is playing OK. Wouldn't be unhappy to see someone else play there e.g. Barry if form permits, but I can't see Trengove playing there that's for sure.

Jonas has to come back in if available, and while I would like to see Watts back in I wouldn't be surprised if we tell him to do it all again and prove some consistency.

My thoughts also. Ebo has not been great, but still serviceable. Needs to add more to his game. Could he float across half back? He is a great mark.

Yeah we need to get more out of him while his mid minutes are not high, moving him down back as you said could help him and the side a bit.

Gee, I'm heartbroken that we're going to miss out on that second round pick Dodo would have offered. That pick 30 was going to be a future superstar. :(
and more to the point what could have melbourne offered they dont even have a first round pick the cows have that
