Can Ken give Boak one of those Polec style rockets. Maybe that will help?
Boak gives himself so many Polec style rockets I'm not sure he'll notice anything coming from Ken.

To all those saying Boak should not be dropped... forget about him being captain for a second and look at the stats.
Rnd 13 v Bulldogs - 19disposals at 47.4% efficiency. 6 clangers, 1 tackle, 0 1%ers, 25% accuracy at goal.
Rnd 12 v Richmond - 18disposals at 44.4% efficiency. 5 clangers, 6 tackles, 3 1%ers, 0 goal assists
Rnd 11 v Hawks - 16 disposals at 62.5% efficiency. 4 clangers, 4 tackles, 0 1%ers, 0 goal assists
Rnd 9 v Suns - 29 disposals at 58.6% efficiency. 5 clangers, 6 tackes, 0 1%ers, 33.3% accuracy at goal, 0 goal assists (from 6 i50's!)
Nothing about these stats says wonderful, amazing, keeps his spot in the side. Against the suns he had his most disposals @29, but poor delivery with 6 i50s resulting in no goals. He is a clanger machine (13th in the league for clangers) has terrible accuracy at goal, has poor form in setting up goals, tackles ok, but shows a lack of second effort.
If he wasn't captain, everyone would be calling for his head.
I say give him a rest (up to the club if they play him in the SANFL or just give him a week or two to work out what ever is effecting his output), give Ollie the job for a week or two so we can see how he leads the team, then bring a hopefully fired up Boaky back into the side so coming into finals we have the best Boak, the one we all love, back playing his best footy.
I want Boak to play, and I want him to be the player we know he is, but at the moment he is a shadow of his former self, and if being dropped (and call it hamstring awareness or some crap if the club doesn't want to omitt him) might get that fire burning.

I didn't think he was that bad in terms of getting to the ball but yea he had a mare with ball in hand, you have blind love for him no matter what though where if it was anyone else you'd rip in.
Boak's issue is not and never will be his lack of effort. Can Ken give Boak one of those Polec style rockets. Maybe that will help?

Boak being dropped is ******* ludicrous. Even when he has a mare like last night, he still opens up so much space for others to be effective.
The Boak hate on this board is insulting and simply pathetic

People are entitled to an opinion without being trashed about it.
Boak's poor form is no fallacy, but he IS captain and will not be dropped, so we need to adjust the side around him to suit our style.
.
I don’t like the “8 point game” idiom, but with the ladder and the early bye... this is as close as you’ll get to an 8 point game.
Boak needs a rest. Give him the week off to recover.
Out: Boak
In: Watts
And if Jonas is fit then in for Clurey.
The fact that he gasses himself has a lot to do with his sometimes poor disposal. I don't know how many of his naysayers have actually played the game, but it is ****ing incredibly hard to hit kicks when you have lead legs. Especially at the game pace of AFL.The other thing to consider with Boak which i've mentioned is his hard running. Noone in our team runs as hard as what he does. So many times he'll start a play in the defensive 50, 2 or 3 disposals later he's attacking a contest in the forward 50 and you think 'how the **** did he get there?'.
As I said, it opens up space. Very few defenders can run with him the whole game with that level of repeat sprinting. He's averaging over 23 touches a game playing almost solely as a forward flank which would be close, if not the most disposals a forward flanker is getting this year. It forces a 2nd player to go to him which frees up someone else moving forward. It allows guys like Wingard and the Grays to free up some more space.
Noone else on our list can run like that in that role. That's why he remains important, even whilst having a shocker.
Have you seen how hard he runs? Imagine if the rest of the 22 worked that hard for 4 quarters.Wasn't long ago that Boak would proudly declare his main responsibility as captain was to deliver on game day. Well sorry Boak fans, he's been failing as a player and captain for a long time. Not AFL standard and needs to be dropped, captain or not.
