1%?! Norf can kiss 1% of my ass!

We copped shit in the media for years for tanking and we didn't exactly put on a spirited display during that period. We'll win. Ugly but we'll win.
I hope you're right mate, we should.
We didn't HAVE any spirit!

We were a club without a backbone or accountability

You'll laugh but I think if we can beat North we're a genuine premiership threat.

If we can't finals are a 50/50 proposition again.

Calm down mate.

You don't have the offensive weaponry/game plan in place yet.

However, the base is definitely there.

We don't have the offensive weaponry?

Hogan Mcdonald Watts Hannan Garlett Petracca competes with any forward 6 in the AFL. It's not the thing stopping us winning

Marks inside 50

Melbourne - 11th

What's all this stuff about it being wet and windy in Hobart tomorrow?

Weather.com: Cloudy. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 16ºC. Winds NNW at 15 to 30 km/h.

AccuWeather: Considerable cloudiness with afternoon drizzle. Winds from the N 18 km/h, Gusts: 28 km/h.

BOM: Cloudy. High (70%) chance of rain, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Winds north to northwesterly 25 to 40 km/h.

That's an awesome Hobart winter forecast.

Gawn and Hogan have been out for the majority of the year.

That'll happen without a key forward target for 8 weeks.

Averaging 95 points a game suggests that it's just fine however.

It's something that will need to be rectified for September football, whatever the cause.

Been many reasons for that. Richmond are 2nd for marks inside 50 with no forward targets. We are a long kicking repeat entry side who relies more on stoppage and crumb goals than marks.

Agree with that. Personally wont think we're a shot unless we win this week and next week.

I'd argue that's one thing we actually DO have!
Including the ability to play lots of different blokes through there too!
Forward line been unsettled all year yet we're still averaging 95 points a game!

I struggle to believe that even the most optomistic Melbourne supporter would suggest that they had an offensive "game plan".

Have you watched us since last year?? We are as attacking as anyone we just have the ability to defend unlike a few sides.

We are 6th for points scored without our FF and Ruck for most of the year so that's 2 air swings from you mate

6th for inside 50s, 7th for total score, we move the ball quickly, use the corridor as much as anybody and have prioritised run and rebound out of D50. We've had games where we've fiddled around with the ball too much and our delivery inside 50 is something we need to improve. We've also had an unstable tall forward group.

I think you're stuck in the past, thinking Paul Roos' legacy must have been a highly defensive 'game plan'.

EDIT: I should also say that I really like that we have developed a change of gears as the year has gone on, where we can also clamp down on teams grind it out - see the second half against Port last week.

If I'm to be convinced we can play 4 good quarters at high intensity in finals, I want to see some drubbings in the remainder of the season. None of this weak half arsing it to the end of the year. If we're going to compete with teams who have been playing finals, we gotta get hungry and have a good run at it.

i noticed Trenners being named on the ground now rather than the bench not that its much and someone has probably already said it but good signs for him

If he can get back any of his over head marking from the first couple years he could still prove me wrong and forge a career

You're taking the piss yeah?
Watched us much this year?
Fumble a bit through the middle of the ground through trying to be (at times) too eager to play on and attack.
I'd say we had one of the more attacking styles in the comp.
Not me being optimistic or pessimistic as defence is important as attack but I am being factual.
If you disagree, it's because you just have no idea.

Mate you are thinking Melbourne under Roos. Our game plan under Goodwin is hugely attacking. We move the ball as fast as we can. Don't think you've watched us much this year.
