I really wanted Tucker to debut but I get why Suban and Mayne are still in the team. Suspect they were seriously considering bringing in Tucker for Suban but he didn't step up in the match sims at training so they can't really be blamed for not making the change. Mayne is there because there are no other viable options at the moment. Alex Pearce will spend most time in defence you'd think, especially given Tabs has been recalled. Pretty sure Tabs will also pinch hit in the ruck, and they chose him over Hannath because he at least offers something else. Pav, A.Pearce, Tabs and Mayne all in the same forward line would be... um... interesting. Hope we get to see it even if it is train wreck.

Tabs was in the specialist mid group after the match sims with Griff rucking so yes Tabs will pinch hit. Hannath,Tucker spent the time sitting on the outskirts and watching.

Where was Crozier playing in the match sim? Were the skills as bad as reported?

I couldn't see exactly where Crozier was playing, he was only slightly more visible than Tucker. Admittedly we spent a fair bit of time fretting about Hill and Barlow.
Lyon was certainly more grumpy and vocal than I've normally seen. I won't say exactly what I heard, because I don't want to be an opposition spy ( or add fuel to fires); but it was about ball movement and choices of where to kick.
Sumich even got a serve (not by Lyon, I think) when he kicked the ball into the centre for a sim. He replied with a jovial comment.

One thing I'll add: I can't wait for Morabito to get his minutes up, he is a class above.

What was wrong with Barlow? I just feel if we are to beat the Roadkill then we need players like Crozier, Hill, Neale etc... to hit the scoreboard. We can't rely on Walters and Pav to kick 5 goals each.

When I got there, Barlow and Hill were doing fitness tests. They obviously passed because they participated in the match sims.

Anyone predict a late change? Ross in his presser today said that the team isn't final until 90 minutes before the bounce of the ball.

Sunday so far away.
It's happened DeBoer is out and Brady Grey has come in as an emergency. In are Griffin Tabs and Crozier So emergencies are Hannath Tucker and Grey.

Therein lies our problem. Lachie Neale used to be reliable for a goal or so a game, hasn't looked like scoring or even getting a score involvement this year. Pearce D, Suban, Mundy no better and Hill and Barlow marginally better. Fyfe only one who looks capable of scoring each game.

Danny,are the ears still burning.:D
Yeah they are but I'll take it on the chin for the old dudes team ha ha

By the way when I gave you the info that was attributed to Phil that Sandi was an out against the Slime it turned out to be someone calling 6PR to say Sandi was an out. So I am not Guilty your worship.

So that's 2 weeks in a row that I have copped it lucky I am a man of steel ha ha

DeBoer didn't appear to get injured at training so did you see anything that I didn't in respect to Matty. I can't work out why he is an omission from the team picked less than 24 hrs ago as my understanding is you can only be omitted from the squad based on injury. At least he did kick some goals as against Mayney.

Chris even with the young coach and Danyle Pearce assisting still struggled at various distances to slot them through. He just lacks confidence the poor young man. :D:):thumbsu:

Perhaps given we play Carlton next week at home, more of a chance for youngsters such as Tucker and Grey to come in. Surely with Weller, Langdon, Tucker and Grey still can beat the Blues.

In retrospect, I wish Sandi had been out last week - he'd be good to play this week. :(

As for Mayne, it doesn't bode well that he can't slot it at training, he really needs to find mojo somewhere else.

You missed out including Connor Blakely as he trained with the Main Group today and looked good .
