The Docklands surface is a serious worry for next week given Essendon play St Kilda there the previous day to our clash against North:

I'll be filthy if one our of boys get injured as a result of the surface.

Good to see we aren't the only club where amateur hour is directed our way:

Yeah, it's a disgrace. But the AFL will do bugger all about it. It's an issue that'll build all week, for sure.

I liked having Stef and Oscar solely rotating with each other and neither spending much, if any time forward.

I guess the risk we have with that is if we get an injury during the game especially to one of our smaller running players it will leave us exposed a bit, especially with an already overly tall team (backline).

With that in mind, I know it’s hard to drop anyone after the way everyone played, but I think I just want an extra running player in there somewhere. So maybe Hodge gets rested on the faster ground?

I can't see Fagan and co. making any changes, the only player out there last night who I thought was down on form was Eric Hipwood and he'd be the one I'd bring out if they want to go smaller on the fast track, depending on form in the NEAFL practice match, Eric runs under the ball far too often (sometimes nudged/pushed).

Out- Eric Hipwood. In one of- Lewy Taylor, Allen Christensen, Ben Keays, Cedric Cox.

I do think with us playing a confident expansive winning style of footy Cedric Cox would add a lot to our side, cream on top.

Chuck the replay on, the things Hippy did were great. He did get rushed under the ball a bit but reckon he'll be better for the run. Definitely needs to hit the scoreboard or get more touches, but imo his game was impacted by the big impacts of Cameron and McCarthy along with others. He wasn't the primary target and when we went to he and Mcstay, they got it to the ground.

We might not need to worry about Ben Cunnington playing against us. Just threw out a fist at Wilson running past, putting him on the ground for a couple of minutes.

Dumb dumb dumb.

Teams coming off beltings usually come out breathing fire the following week, if we are off a few percent we'll be in trouble.

It’s not about them it’s about us we just need to do what we did against WC and we should be good.

Good teams break out the knives for teams that’ve just been smashed.

I don't think we can class ourselves as a good team yet.... BUT IMO we have the potential to be a very good side, how we back up over the next few weeks will be a good early indicator.

It will show a lot of maturity to come out and win next week but at the same time it will be extremely disappointing if we are to lose. North have quite a big injury list (plus Cunnington), just got belted by 90 points against an average side and have 1 less day to prepare. I don't think there are any excuses, their structures were all over the place and I can't see that changing just in 7 days.

I think we will have enough motivation to go down there next week and prove a point!
They smashed us early last year and then we were a kick away from turning that around late in the year!
We will go there and show them which of the 2 teams are on the up.

No changes. I think Fagan has show he prefers no/small changes and only when necessary. It would be bold confidence if we used this match to try out the future without Hodge which we have to do across the year but I think it's too early for that yet let's bed down the game plan under fire first. I though our kick in choices could improve yet so no changes are let Hodge coach from on the field.

Unchanged. This team needs an opportunity to stay together, they represent our best 22 and we need to keep them on the park. They will PUMP North Melbourne!

Would be disappointing to short change the Melbourne fans with a let down performance this week.
We don’t get to see to many wins down here. (I suppose none of us have of recent times)
That being said I don’t think Fages and co will let a 2-0 opportunity slip and will make sure we are on song.
Rayner will be after redemption I reckon. He kicks 5.
Unchanged.

Yeah - I'm pretty bullish over our chances against North and would have been even had they beaten Freo today. Only concern I have is the quality of playing surface as far as potential for injury goes, but that's in the lap of the gods.

Very few teams turn around a 15 goal belting and win the following week.

Bring on North Melbourne next week when us Victorian fans get our turn.

As for changes; I'm not sure there'd be any given we appeared to get through unscathed on the injury front.

According to dickhead Barrett; Gardiner will be out for six weeks for nudging Ryan with is leg.:drunk:

Six weeks might've been an exaggeration but you get the point.

Barrett is a Norf supporter...

Dunno... Norf are neither weak or strong. ..just mediocre... On this occasion playing on the rock hard surface of optus stadium and the travel back from the West might be in our favour...

I would like to see our forwardline go with McStay & Resting Ruck, Rayner and 3 smalls. Hipwood either gets moved up the ground to learn how to lead into space or gets drop. I think we can expose Kangas lack of defenders that can play med/small

F: Charlie, omac ,Rayner
Hf: Lewy, McStay, McCarthy
