Jenkins said on 5AA that's it's helped having Smack as its allowed him to play solely as a forward. When he was rucking he was too knackered to lead. He also said Smack is taking more of the ruck than Jenkins did and Sauce is benefiting from that. In a nutshell there is no way Smack will be dropped.

i actually thought Smack was pretty good tonight. it was the most influential i've seen him in a game (i missed the game in Sydney which was apparently his best) The pleasing thing for me from Smack tonight was that he was hitting the contest better. and getting amongst it rather than just lingering around the fringes.

I want to see Callinan play more than 1 dominant game before returning. I havent got him banished forever like some seem to, but the kids must do something wrong before being dropped IMO. at this stage they've all performed well enough.

Porps is the one to go IMO. Sure he was ok when he came on, but he's shown over weeks and weeks now that he cant perform in a whole game. It's harsh, but he deserves to go more than anyone else IMO.

So.....

In
Crouch

Out
Porps

but i wold be OK i guess if we go in unchanged.

For my 1000th post i'd just like the thank the Adelaide Board and the BigFooty family.

Full credit to the boys and Jenny (and any other girls with less obvious names). From here i just want to keep posting and contribute the board as best i can.

Yeah na.....I'm taking it one post at time.

Yeah na.

I think our only bad player today was Kerridge.

But it would be a harsh call to drop him. I'd like to see Crouch in the team but not even getting in the bests doesn't scream pick me. Plus Dolph has a bit of credit in the bank. I reckon we go in unchanged.
Kerridge played a tagging role in the 1st half on Fisher, then moved into defence when they went smaller with the sub. He played a discipined game & makes sure he uses the ball when he gets posession. IMO, was not our worse player - Wright struggled more & was subbed accordingly.

In: Crouch, Martin (sub)
Out: Wright, Porplyzia

Porps looked OK as sub, but IMO not a good to be sub 2 weeks running. Give him a run for Westies & come back into the team.

Roos have plenty of runners, so Martin (or Hendo) are a must. Went Martin as had a decent game for Sturt.

Wright has struggled most of the year & needs a run for North as opposed to against North.

Callinan is close, but needs to put consecutive games together.

Disagree. His ball use was off tonight. He had the worst DE of our team at 58% - made even worse by the fact that 83% of his disposals were uncontested. One tackle and two contested possessions isn't enough for a defensive small. He can't produce that kind of performance again if he wants to keep out the likes of Crouch, Hendo, Petrenko etc.

SMACK won't get any best on votes but he's been good, doing some very nice things and playing his role.

No way should he be dropped.

Unchanged or someone for Crouch but I don't know who.

Do you observe games by stats or watching the actual game & understand player's role? Were you at the actual game?

Did you watch Fisher's game tonight v last week?

Smack was our only forward switched on early. Ran hard to find space & 2nd efforts were good. Anyone calling for him to be dropped seriously has no clue!

Agree with everyone, Crouch in for Wright. Means no change of structure. Hapy for Crouch to be eased back in as sub building to full game the week after.

If Jenkins doesn't come up then Hendo in. Not quite like for like but as close as we'll get at the moment.

Seriously?

I'd keep him in.

Hasn't set the world on fire, but give him another few weeks, see which way he goes.
I thought he was fine today, not even close to going out. And people on here know how lowly I've rated him in the past.

Callinan a chance after his 25 disposal 5.2 game performance?

Crouch the other obvious one although no one is really screaming to be dropped. Whilst McKernan hasn't set the world on fire, him being in the side lets Jenkins play as a full time forward who has done very well since McKernan has been in the team.
Yeah, heard about Nutta's game, he would be strongly considered one would think. Depends how the coaches see us matching up against North I guess, but a Callinan in form does improve our side.

I reckon they'll go in unchanged, but Crouch for Wright is a definite possibility.

Well this definitely isn't a leading question. Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about and my only interpretation of the game is through looking at a stats page.

He just didn't have a good game. He didn't get into it much and when he did, he turned it over more than he should have. That sounds pretty basic, but apparently backing up qualitative opinion with stats is a big nono.

In: Callinan, Petrenko, johncock, Tambling and Jaensch

Out: Lyons, Kerridge, Brown, Lynch and Laird

Then when we get smashed by North Melbourne, this idea the experienced players who are not in the side will be the difference between us being a top 8 side and a premiership contender.

The season has got back on track because of the youthful players coming into the side, yet we still have this desire that we are only 1 kick away from a premiership and these guys must come in.
