From what I can tell the big X man's form at Coburg wasn't irresistibly banging down the door for a promotion to the seniors, it looked to be more of a case of see what he can do. On the flip side Webberley's form did probably warrant a call up.

Just demonstrates the lack of depth at the club and how we as supporters continue to romanticise bit players into the second coming of Royce.
Yeah that really annoys me.
Said some where else the other week I can't believe I seen Coburg get belted by willy the other week and walked away thinking shit we are in trouble if we cop bad luck. It was only about 6-7 weeks ago!
From that same team that day Griffiths,Maric,O'Hanlon,Graham,Conners,White,Derryckx, Elton and Webberly have played I don't think I've forgotten anyone!
Mcguane was injured and doing nothing,Moore was not to be seen.
That's eleven blokes who have played since then!!!

If the coburg listed players or their willy equivalents were told those blokes would be playing for Richmond soon, many all in one hit they'd have laughed you out of town and rightly so.

Shows how hard we've been hit by injury and stupidity.

That day Derryckx I thought showed he just wasn't up to it. Barely up to VFL but as you say he's just got real lucky to pinch a few games he can talk about when he's old.
Graham was just so so,Griffiths stood out to me with O'Hanlon and they have not disappointed at all.
White was white and dominant at that level.
Elton looked about 2 years off it and bugger mme he's playing a month later! Still looking 2 years off it.

It doesn't auger well for Post and Browne that they were playing that day also and along with Arnot I think about the only ones left.Astbury was injured .
Arnot for mine didn't look much either.

I sort of think this last month or so has been good for us in a way.
You can paper over real cracks when you're running best 22-25 so this has really sorted the wheat from the chaff and will make a lot of decisions easy for us.
It's also getting games into a couple who might be alright but are playing when they probably shouldn't like O'Hanlon.

As you say it has certainly destroyed the Myths a lot of people have about players who couldn't get a game lol.
I don't mind what's happening really.Dont mind at all. Yesterday would be a record I think. Can you ever think of a team who at round 16 have in the one team about 6 blokes who will be delisted and probably not picked up either.
Not as though we are in the bottom tanking either!

IT'S STILL POSSIBLE!!!! JUST HAVE TO WIN AGAINST NORTH, CARLTON AND ESSENDON. I have us losing against Freo, all games are won and lost by 12 points (i did this for all teams so percentage could play a factor)

The only thing i really want is to never see Derickx or Graham in the side again and McGuane and Webberly also out at the end of the year.
agree with most of that except McGuane because although i was banging on about him yesterday during the match i was only looking at the stats sheet, the thing was that whenever the ball was kicked to him it was never in his favour. if the first 2 kicks that were kicked to him were at least kicked at him and not to the opponent he would've kicked a couple more goals.

Lmao

A.Maric was fine, he's a classy user of the ball that has a few flaws in his game that need to be ironed out, he was far better then O'hanlon was, O'Hanlon may have got only a half of footy but showed he still needs time in the VFL

Out: Graham, Webberley(why was he subbed?), Dea, O'Hanlon

In: Maric, Martin, Jackson, Griffiths, Arnot (?)

Derickx wasn't that awful, people only remember that dropped mark, yes it was a big mistake but I saw a lot of nice things from Derickx, it's only his second game for ****s sake.
A.maric is terrible , his first and foremost intention is to avoid body contact . I appreciate because he has been brought into the club as a mature player from another club , he will be given greater opportunities . But whilst his is upon on our list SE are wasting spots .

I wouldn't mind keeping Martin and Jackson out for another week just to show them how they cost us our season with their stupidity.

Alas, as there is some small, tiny, single iota chance we can still make the 8 I guess i'd say:
Out:
- Cotchin (suspended - [he plays for RFC])
- Batchelor (knee)
- Derickx (broken arms and crushed ribs - assumed by the fact that he dropped that chest mark late. Could be the only reason)
- Graham (omit)
- Webberly

In:
- Jackson
- Martin
- Maric
- Griffiths/Elton
- Verrier

Yep, absolutely last chance with our season on the line, lets drop our 3rd best midfielder and an important big bodied tagger.

I can't see us beating North -- Adam's & Hansen always go well against us-- let alone Petrie, Booma, Ziebel & co.
Down forward Jack will be forced to the dead pocket's against Grima ,Thompson & Firrito all in all they look quite
superior graham v goldstein eeekkk:eek:

Out: Richmond
In: VB long necks and drunken sex with mrs
Hehe, very good.

Alot of people giving the obvious suspects the flick. I'll be a little disappointed if one or two more seasoned heads don't roll this week. Have really liked Edwards year for the most part, but he was very frustrating and lazy yesterday. I thought Tuck's execution was deplorable nearly all day, but he certainly has credits in the bank.

Both will probably be missing.

Petrie did his adductor, and some people think Ziebell will be suspended (Which is moronic, the umpire saw it and didn't even give a free. I saw it at the ground and it was clear that he made contact to the shoulder and was going for the ball, people are only calling this because it looks like the riewoldt incident from last year.)

1. Umpires aren't right 100% of the time. I expect you make the same application of your opinion on the Chris Judd incident.

2. Concussion isn't something you get in your shoulder.

How exactly is this a danger game? No Grimes, Batchelor, Vickery, King, and Cotchin. No functional forward line. Nothing to play for with finals over for 2012. There is not a single reason we can win next week, and no hope in hell of it happening.
sounds like a good win for us then ......;)

and that reason is??
always seem to struggle of late, when we enter games as favorites.
I prefer the 'underdog' tag that we will have this week, tend to pull something out of the bag when this is the case.

I get that, but we are up against something bigger this week and its the Kangas fighting for a finals spot. They will be fired up and smelling blood after their win and our piss weak effort. IMO they will not be complacent, and will come out to put the final stake through our heart (i.e. whatever Karmichael didn't nail yesterday)

Normally I would be backing us for the win, but we are not playing with the same heart we did at the start of the year, the list is injury hit, and we have nothing to play for other than the odd career

Ziebell won't get weeks, ball was in the air so he jumped to get it and beat Joseph to the ball.
Petrie is probably a 50/50 chance, the 9 day break helps though. Really looking forward to this game

Umpire gave Taylor Walker a free kick for spear tackling Morris. Walker was given 3 weeks.

rfctiger74 ..... i agree with what you are saying, but I stll have a feeling we will be stepping up against some good sides over the next few weeks. we are definately not as bad as we showed yesterday. If we lost yesterday's game with all our regular players in the team, then i would be shattered. As it is, I will stay positive with the boys, and I for one did not have us in the 8 this year, and was always going to give Hardwick his full three years ....By the way, I was at the game yesterday, the flight home gives you time to reflect. Bring on Kangas :)
