Ok Guys and Girls, what will our changes for this week be? I am hoping both Mundy and Hase will be right for this game. Will Headland come in or does he need another game for Subi?

I am predicting no forced changes... although I wouldnt be surprised to maybe see Hill rested.

The tricky thing for Des and the match committee, is that there's a general bye this weekend in the WAFL, so he either plays for Freo, or he sits out this weekend.

If they think he's not yet good to go, then that means he won't play for at least another 3 weeks at AFL level, cos that means they'll want him to play the week after next for Subi again... I reckon he needs another game at Subi, but I don't think Harves will want to wait 3 weeks to get him back in.

Based on that, I reckon he'll come in, and my guess us that it will be Hinkley that goes out.

In - Headland
Out - Hinkley

If Mundy misses (spent half the night on the bike, was it hamstring soreness??)
In- Zach Clarke

Pratt and Pearce are playing very good footy.
Pratt for Suban. Maybe Clarke to help Sandi.
Murphy out?
Des should get a couple more in the WAFL and play after the break, I feel.

People have been calling for Murphy to be left in for a month so I figure give him one more game to cement his spot and if he fails play Johnson as a permanent forward and bring in big Zach against the Tigers.

Clancee with his good skills and decision making but lack of pace will offer more June-August when the weather is worse and the grounds get slower.

DeBoer anf Hinkley have only been playing about 60% of each match, Des is ready to play 15-20 minutes a quarter and offers more than those 2 IMO.

As we have no tagger, did you see the job Deboer did on Bateman after half time? Held his own I thought

Yeah i agree he also was prity good around the stoppages he is defenitely worth perservering with. Hinkley needs to go back in the wafl and work on his game. To me a player with his speed he should be linking up on the wings a lot more, he tackles well and is prity hard at the contest but seems to be ineffective due to his light frame he also lacks poise atm.

Hopefully when he fills out and gets more experience he will be good player for us. If ready id like des back in or maybe even walters to add a bit of spark and skill in the fwd line.

Headland in for Hinkley - not at afl level yet in my opinion. Suban and Hill have shown way more than Hinkley so far this season. Des has class, we need class, this was very obvious from friday night. Des won't be fit enough to play wing or midfield so play him forward - we need another lead up forward - maybe decoy for Murphy.

Headland and Murph playing deep in the goal square leading out strongly!

Clarke should come in the week after at home I think

how has campbell been playing?
wouldnt mind him in the forward line at least he will go hard at it

murphy out

Campbell has been struggling would not bring him in.

The State game is on this w.e so we could drop the younger guys to give them a complete rest, but we've got games against the Roos and Tigers, I'd play them all in those two, and then if we are going to rest a couple, it'd be against Geelong in Geelong

That's going to be a long time if they're needing a rest. ;)

We've got an 8 day break so I'm inclined to keep our tyros this week although I have said on another thread we should be thinking about giving them a break. Headland for Hinkley - we may lose a bit of midfield run in that Headland would probably be parked in the goal square as a leading forward but Hinkley is a bit player at the moment so it wouldn't be much of a loss. Dessie down forward as another (and pretty skilled) target fills another gap for us.

Apparently Headland admitted he struggled with the pace of the game so I would probably wait another couple of weeks and get him back in the wafl for a game before letting him loose.

Need to persist with Murphy for one more week considering our forwardline and because its at Etihad.

The only possible changes I would make are maybe bringing either Pratt or Foster in for Hinkley and maybe Hill or Suban if they need a rest. I also wouldn't take unfit players over so if Mundy isnt right maybe add Clarke or one of the others suggested depending on matchups.

Out: Hinkley, really struggles to have any impact and has poor skills.
In: Headland will be up for 60-70% game time.

Others whose positions are in doubt:
Murphy, although I would give him another week. Bradley may be an option.
Peake, Has struggled this year. Foster may be an option, but probably needs more WAFL time.

Friday night Suban & Hill both looked as though fatigue was setting in. A few others didn't look much better.
With 3 games to the break of which two are away games I'd treat this game as a fatigue breaker game.
Give Suban, hill and Hinkley a rest. Ready to go the following weeks Tigers home, Power away.
Give Kepler another run. Foster a try out, Look closely at Des even give Kiwi a call.

Getting stuck in a rutt now is not where we are heading.

I wouldn't take the Roos lightly, but I would treat this game as a chance to look at other combos.

Out: Hinkley - lacking a bit in confidence, needs a couple of WAFL games.
In: Pratt - Was solidish against the blues, 18 disposals this weekend in the WAFL. Headland is the alternative, but as said is lacking in fitness. Kepler was good this weekend (albeit against the bottom side) but needs to string a few good WAFL performances together before he earns a recall.

I think the limited output this weekend from Hill, Suban and DeBoer is more due to the fact they are first years players coming off a 6 day turnaround from Queensland against the reigning premiers than the need for them to be rested.

North will most likely have some handy ins this week, Wells, Ziebell and Rawlings, 3 midfielders, I think bring in Headland for Hinkley and Pratt for Suban.
