Hope hardingham does play forward, good reader of the ball, and should be able to play the crameri role pretty well..

No Winderlich is not good. At all.

I'm not convinced that Jobe will actually play, either.
No Crameri and no Licka are major factors when we play the better sides. Those hard leading grabs up the wing really open the ground up for us and make us less predictable when we go through the center. If Jobe doesn't get up either then we are in real trouble. Problem is, i'm not sure how good Jobe will be this week anyway... There will definitely be a mental hurdle to get past when he cops continual hits on that shoulder. I reckon the Pies will be smelling blood :(

He'll take MOTY.

Not sure who he'll be able to replace. Don't think Del'Olio or Jetta will be dropped. Unless he's going to come in for Baguely.

Also, any word on Fletch's chances of playing?

So... Carlisle in a Forward pocket, Hardy at Full Forward and Ryder at CHB...

I know that is most likely not going to be the final line up but, interesting...

I'm not feeling overly confident or defeatist this week. We are in with a chance but need to bring our best from the squad we have named.

Depending on if you believe Watson is in or not we pretty much have our best midfield available and even if a couple are under slight clouds or underdone that's still a very good sign. Our ruck division of Ryder/Bellchambers should absolutely own Grundy/Lynch unless something goes really wrong. Hopefully these factors together can mean we can get our clearances going because we have been woeful in that area recently. I'm really not sure on a head to head basis which midfield will win, there's too many ifs and buts at the moment. I'd prefer we send Hocking to Swan and go head to head with Pendlebury.

We've also got our best defense available which should be capable of both defending and rebounding (although we haven't gotten the same level of rebound from Dempsey/Hibberd for quite a few weeks now that we did earlier in the season, a more competitive midfield should help though). Carlisle v Cloke is obvious and if he needs a break then Hooker can mind him occasionally for short bursts. Hooker needs to position himself right in front of Cloke as they send so much ball his way its worth double teaming him.

Now to the ever depressing forward line.......Its not intimidating on any level. There is absolutely no one that I would be confident of even kicking 3 goals let alone a bag. If we are going to win its going to need an even spread of goal kickers and a fair few from our midfield. Collingwood do struggle against quality smalls but I'm not sure Dell'olio, Jetta, Hardingham and Colyer would strike fear into anyone. Gumbleton and Bellchambers should do OK but Pies have good tall defenders so I would favour Pies there. I think we should look at playing Goddard forward for a good amount of the game as well as rotating Watson/Stanton down there fairly often to get some decent mid sized targets. I wonder if they will consider playing Hardingham down back and releasing Dempsey up the ground, might be worth a go.

Collingwood by 12

No crameri, hurley or winders. 3 out of our 5 highest goal kickers for the year out. Jobe coming back with a question mark. Queries over whether Zaha, Carlisle are fully fit. Certainly worried about this game.

I was actually going to bump the Kyle Hardingham thread with the idea of reinventing him to play a forward role. Still remember him kicking 8 goals in his first 3 game in 2010.

Was just about to bring this up. Thought he was the next big thing.

Hope that happens!

He's named at FF he'll be playing, I expect Pears, Obrien, Jetta to be named emergencies tomorrow, though obviously there could be late changes,

i agree 100%. Hardingham would be perfectly suited to our game plan of bombing it into the forward line. Bag a few big grabs and hopefully he can kick straight now coz he has the potentail to kick a lot of goals

Missing half our forward line in Winderlich/Hurley/Crameri. Think Jobe will spend lots of time up forward, but the team kicking goals will be an issue.

Expect Myers/Melksham/Colyer/O'Brien to make the final 22.

I chose O'Brien because we need help to shut down Pendlebury and Swan. These guys always have a day out against us.

Hope that Reid doesn't come up, or otherwise we may be stretched in defence.

We need Gumbleton to stand up - And he won't be against a team's number one defender.

Hard to predict what Collingwood will do - They have been inconsistent in 2013.

I reckon they'll line up something like this;-

Hooker Fletch Baguley
Hibberd Carlisle Dempsey
Goddard Myers Stanton
Zakka Gumby Melksham
Watson TBell Jetta

Ryder Heppell Hocking

Bench from: Kommer Colyer Dell'Olio Howlett

Watson definitely going to have to play forward and kick some goals given Hurley, Winders & Crameri out, and our forward line has been average at best all year...
Gumby NEEDS to stand up and show something, and lets hope Reid doesnt come up for them as that will give us an edge in tall timber which we should be able to use to our advantge.
Very worried about Pendlebury and Swan who always seem to carve us up.... Comon Bombers we really need to win this one....

Ok, so I will throw something a bit crazy out there... A few weeks ago, Hirdy answered a member's question about Fletch on Word from Hird. Hirdy said at the end that we shouldn't be surprised if Fletch plays a bit forward later in the year. I can see Hardingham going back and Fletch going forward to help out with a tall target. It is out their but it is a chance!

On put Fletch in the midfield and tell him to launch a torpie shot for goal if he marks it anywhere in our forward half :D

I wonder if Melbourne will trade for him. Play him and Howe together in their forward line with a game plan to kick it high into the forward line. Dawes has a job to hold up the pack while those two fly over it!!

Haha, you should suggest it to them, to most teams it would seem offensive, but to them they'd be like "2 Howe's??!"
