I think that Pav will come in for Smith .Hannath was dead ordinary but we need two ruckmen because there is no way Clarke could ruck all day on his own .
Smith did contribute but Bribane is in such a terrible state of disrepair .
Lachie Neale certainly struggled with the hard tag in the first half but he responded well in the second half.

On the broadcast they put up the injury list. There was 16 on it. Add 22 and thats 38. That leaves 7 that didn't play. The three emergencies and three rookie list players leave one senior list player who was available and didn't travel.

Poor Ed Langdon!

I thought Tabs hurt his hip not his ankle when he landed heavily in the marking contest in the goal square because he kicked the ball fine . If he had injured his ankle badly there was no way he would have been able to kick a footy.

Nah on the replay you could clearly see his ankle roll over when he landed. Might have been his right though from memory.

If we take out Clarke, who rucks? Hannath? :drunk:

Smith as the resting forward/ruckman. Hannath tried hard but Port will just run off him.

Port do not really have a recognised ruckman as the second ruckman.

Send Smith in there to win the ball and get it to our midfield.

You know that he is going to bash and crash! ;-)

Pav in - Hannath out.

I would like to see Tanner stay in too. I think we could get away with one ruck and having him pinch hit. Get him involved in the game, smash into opposition players, cause them some hurt.

I agree with all of that. The Brisbane defence was non existent and Smith was good but not great. He'd have a totally different challenge on his hands against Port.

It could be good to give him that challenge to see how he goes but I think the club and the WAFL watchers have seen enough to know how it would turn out. Is Pav certain to return?

I don't see the downside to giving Smith another game. Hannath either. We're here to find out what our fringe players can bring at the highest level. So give them a chance. Clarke would be my out for Pavlich.

Port are playing an undersized key defender in the ruck and conceding the hitouts. Hannath and Z.Clarke would be run off their feet.

Hannath out Pav in for me.

Pav for Clarke No other changes I think Hannah tries hard and I want Tanner to get an opportunity against a better team. He is fighting for a spot on the list.He will never be top 22 but we need to see if he has enough ability to be a depth player for next couple of years.

Agreed - Smith can be versatile if swung in defence should the need present itself.

Difficult decisions this week. I would consider Pav for D.Pearce as the only change. If it is raining then Pav for Hannath.

Pav should put his feet up grab a well deserved beer and let the others play. Bring him back for a swan song farewell celebration when we beat the Eagles later in the year thus condemning them to miss the eight.

He rolled his right ankle

Salim reckons he's been the match winner a couple of times this year albeit against ordinary opposition.
Perhaps they are figuring out if he can be any good going forward before offering him a new deal or maybe he's trade bait.
RTB was at the Peel versus Subi game for about a half (I was there with Salim and Clem) and Clarkey went well and Peel won.Ross mentioned that he was pleased with him in one of his pressers during the week. Salim mentioned that Clarke did really well in the win against the Sharks the week before.
I noticed in the centre square bounces that he seems to be timid in going full on at the opposing rucks and I think he is protecting his leading knee.
