RTB was at the Peel versus Subi game for about a half (I was therewith Salim and Clem) and Clarkey went well and Peel won.Ross mentioned that he was pleased with him in one of his pressers during the week. Salim mentioned that Clarke did really well in the win against the Sharks the week before.I noticed in the centre square bounces that he seems to be timid in going full on at the opposing rucks and I think he is protecting his leading knee.

I'm hearing that Clarke is getting fluid buildup in the knee that needs draining, could explain his fading late in games. If true it's surprising the clubs doctors can't fix it.
I still believe that RTB believes Appness will do a lot of the ruck work in the future but just got stay injury free.

Tanner was excellent and provided us so much grunt and structure in the forward line. He is agile and can put on defensive pressure for a tall. He moved well up the ground and back to goal. He roamed to the right spots and worked well with Tabs. Talk of dropping him after that performance is ridiculous. We will drop Hannath or Clarke for Pav.

I was stunned at the many times that Tanner found space in the 50m arc and the mids did not pass to him instead of going to a contested option.

I Tanner had the ball kicked to him he would have had more goals.

Great job Tanner with the goal assists by the way!

Selfishly...

Pav in to get closer to his 350... I want a awesome signed piece of memorabilia on my wall to remember the great man

This comment is a bit sad in that it reminds us all that Pav is close to the end of his illustrious career. Its just so disappointing that we were not able to give him the premiership that he so richly deserves. At the end of the day though, not all those who deserve a premiership medal get one.

It's ok. He'll get one as a coach with us.

Difficult decisions this week. I would consider Pav for D.Pearce as the only change. If it is raining then Pav for Hannath.

We were already at the maximum for talls, Pav won't come in for a small it will be Tanner or one of the rucks. Having said that, I would love to see D Pearce replaced by Langdon or Grey or even Hughes if he is back, but after winning this is very unlikely.

We looked so much better with Hannah in the centre Bounces

Brady Grey is going to play for Peel .I'm sorry but all of the players he would be a replacement for have had very good games .
If people want to see a player totally out of his depth and panced then give Tanner a game against Port .

Did you not watch the Port game last year when Tanner took care of Shultz?

What position are you saying he should play .In the backline ,then who does he replace .In the forward line would you say he stays and Pavlich doesn't .
What I'm saying is that we don't have a positon for him if Pav plays .

Apeness' position?

We played Apeness, Taberner and Pav so why can't we play smith in Apeness' spot?

Agree for Pav in for one of Hannath/Clarke, even when it means the other will have ruck aloine with only Smith as pinch hitter (would like to see Taberner do it with a sore ankle perhaps). Not 100% convinced on either player as only ruck (even when Clartke has done it good in the past, hasn't looked in that form for quite some time). But should work against Port who have a pretty bad ruck department atm...

It'll be Smith for Pav. Last in, fist out. Clarke is every chance of being lame for the entire game with a well placed knee from the opposition ruckman. So he can't go it alone. Tanner Smith though competitive doesn't have Hannaths size.

Smith will get another go later in the year. Is he really showing more than any other WAFL KPP would given the same opportunity?

Didn't he get more goal assists than any other freo player on the weekend? He stays in imo.

Winning has little to do with Pearce being in the team. He has played every game he has been available since joining us and has had his contract extended. He us best 22.

He showed more defensive effort than Pav usually does, and for someone who has a reputation for poor disposal , his kick to Ballantyne was inch perfect.

Now cmon, only a few games ago Pav laid 8 or 9 tackles. He's not in the same form as 2005, but he's still our champ.

Drop Hannath, let Tanner, Dawson & Tabs ruck as the 2nd ruck given Port's rucks are fire trucked. Bring in a runner or a kid, Brady Gray would be my pick but would concede DeBoer & Gu are in the mix.
