Winning has little to do with Pearce being in the team. He has played every game he has been available since joining us and has had his contract extended. He us best 22.

Doesn't sound like best 22 to me...o_O

Sounds like favouritism and the coach's pet.

So far he is seen by the match committee as best 22 (and so is Suban) but if he continues to make so many critical errors directly leading to goals he should be under the selection microscope. This is not to say that he was bad for the entire game but he has made some real stuff ups lately and I would personally hate to see Blakely, Weller or even Tucker dropped ahead of D Pearce. Taberner was a liability at the beginning of the year with his disposal but has cleaned it up unfortunately D Pearce does not appear to be able to make this correction.

In: Pav
Out: Hannath or Clarke(doesn't look 100%)

Tanner had a good game and deserves his spot. He can chop out in the ruck as Trengove isn't a proper ruckman

Would like another 3 big man forward line. Tanner deserves another week much like the other youngsters have been getting. Would create problems against for the defence. Taberner will get O'Shea or Austin. Both about 195cm, so should be busy again

Yawn. Same ol' same ol' about Pearce. He contributes plenty.

I'm hearing that Clarke is getting fluid buildup in the knee that needs draining, could explain his fading late in games. If true it's surprising the clubs doctors can't fix it.
I still believe that RTB believes Appness will do a lot of the ruck work in the future but just got stay injury free.

Probably would if Sandi and Griff were available.

i agree. Tanner should play this week. Also Ports tall defender stocks are hit with injury

Smith as the resting forward/ruckman. Hannath tried hard but Port will just run off him.

Port do not really have a recognised ruckman as the second ruckman.

Send Smith in there to win the ball and get it to our midfield.

You know that he is going to bash and crash! ;-)

Pav in - Hannath out.

From the few clips I have seen smith plays his heart out in the forward line and has the angry ant look. He fights for the ball which tabs lacks.

I'm starting to think this game against Port is winnable. I think if we were to win this one then we'd also be a chance against the Pies. And if that happened I reckon there'd be some very nervous teams playing against us for the rest of the season. We play all current top 8 teams at home for the rest of the season after next week iirc. Then again, if we lose every game for the rest of the season (which is still somewhat likely) I also have no problem at all as our youngsters are clearly taking massive leaps forward, which is far more important in the grand scheme. Tucker getting a rising star nom in the next couple of games would be good, as would resigning Neale. Plus hearing that Balic is going to be fine would be nice also. Looking forward to seeing Mora and Yarran at Peel this weekend also.

Harley Balic will be back to training soon as his wrist has been given the green light by docs.
That will be something exciting for you guys

The manner in which we're winning is very encouraging. An our biggest weakness at the moment is our ruck.

I think Pav in Hannath out.
Go one Ruck and Smith pinch hitting the ruck.

Although if it's based on endeavour Clarke out for Pav. Hannath take the main rucking duties. Clarke looks cooked.
By putting Hannath in front of him, will this move wake up the sleep mode Clarke.

should be a good battle with that being our problem at the minute too....
Yep. I don't think we'll have the space around the ground that we've been afforded the last couple of weeks, though. If we beat you our season changes axis, if we're soundly beaten then there will be much gnashing of teeth.

Grey and Mzungu were he travelling emergencies for the Brisbane game so I would say that they are ahead of Langdon. at the moment

I think the beauty of this week for both you lot and us is the result will tell a lot for where we are at...

Don't think so, I reckon the role gets rotated a bit as well.

Grey is close but Mzungu is not and he is not going to play ahead of Langdon imo.
