Lets continue this later. somewhere else. I am perfectly aware that fyfe was suspended, That still doesn't explain how Prridda polled more than him, regardless of his eligibility.

I don't mean to be rude but I don't want to continue it, I was just being a bit pedantic. To say that Priddis was not the best performed midfielder that season is not an outlandish call and even I raised an eyebrow when Priddis was given two votes against the Gold Coast in that final round to ensure he topped Fyfe, but the reality is he finished top 3 on ground enough times that year to poll the votes to win.

So as a final note, I don't think it's correct to say he shouldn't have won the Brownlow. My personal view is that the Brownlow is a fun event and worth watching but it's certainly not the be-all and end-all of awards.

Partington likely won't play until the Brisbane or Carlton game later in the year.

Providing he has 45 disposals,30 contested possessions & 6 goals of course...... Not ready to bring that ''experience'' & ''leadership'' that Masten bought last week which ended up with him getting dropped after 1 game.....brilliant.

Was painfully obvious Partington should've played last weekend.

As it stands it's Hurn in for Butler (inj) and Priddis replacing Masten

The never ending debate on the value of Priddis notwithstanding those changes are reasonable and not melt worthy.

Definitely disappointing that JK misses his 5th game but is rather that than rushing him back

Now we wait to see which, if any, of Lycett, Lecras or Schofield come in and who they replace. Based on the extended bench I think Lecras for Redden is the most probable of the possible changes

Masten being omitted reinforces that it was an error playing him in front of Partington last week.
Nice overview, Just a quick question on that last paragraph, So shouldn't Partington be in for Masten then??

Priddis wasnt on the extended bench was he? My AFL app says he is named in the guts.

I agree if the MC bring Pridda in Redden has to go out regardless of last week

No he wasn't sorry, careless phrasing on my part. I just mean to say that when Priddis is named and presumed fit, he will play (even if he had been named on the extended bench).

So the Eagles have a gutsy away win in Melbourne. Match committee: "Hey lets make 5 changes from the young winning team".

So far it's two changes. One of which is our skipper for an injured veteran.

FFS if people are going to melt could they at least base it in reality?

Let's be realistic here, Priddis won't be cut from the extended bench.

Redden may have gone alright but the MC at the moment seems reluctant to play both he and Priddis in the same midfield. Which I agree with.
Priddis isn't even on the extended bench. The best we can hope for is a late withdrawal due to failure to recover fully from "soreness"

so why was it said initially a 3 week injury. it is now 8 weeks since he has been out

What are you talking about? He went down in Round 10, and the estimate was 3 to 5 weeks. This is now Round 16, so he will have missed 6 weeks.

And beyond that, estimating injury time is an inexact science. The Giants were hopeful that Deledio would only miss the first week or two of the season with his calf injury. He hasn't played yet this season. On the other side of the coin, I traded Dayne Beams out of my Supercoach team because the Lions said that he would miss 3-4 weeks with a shoulder injury. He was just named to play this weekend, meaning that he missed just 1 week.

pretty confident now partington will request for a trade while that selfish prick sits in the midfield continually ******* the flow of the game

Nah Partington knows he is a 2nd year player and will have to bide his time until a spot opens for him ..He`s quite respectful and would have been pleased to have travelled as a emergency last week ..

It's an extended bench so we had to name 25 for the Sunday game. So my guess it will end up being two changes, potentially three.

I do generally agree with the sentiment though that the less changes the better.

HOW THE **** DOES THIS TEAMSHEET EVEN WORK?!?!?

Lecras IN so who's out between Karps and Cripps? Or are they gonna play all 3?

Priddis IN so who's out between Priddis and Redden or are they gonna play both?

Lycett IN so who's a tall that's gonna be out between Vardy (in form), Petrie (in form), Darling (found form?).

Lycett, Lecras, Redden, Hutchings bench is awfully slow and heavily weighted to KPPs.

This MC...... :'(

Well for a start it's a 25 man extended squad so LeCras and Lycett won't necessarily make the cut, nor will Redden.

Do people seriously not get how the extended squad works? It's been like this for sunday games for as long as I can remember.

I think we need to accept that Partington isn't really in the frame for selection at the moment. I suspect there is a reluctance to expose him at AFL level because they don't think his game will hold up at that level, evidenced by the fact that the more damaging, and more physically developed Venables seems closer to a debut despite performing worse statistically.

It's great that Partington is hitting the scoreboard on the outside but it sounds like until he develops more physically and is able to cope in the contest against bigger bodies he will be left to develop at WAFL level. So in other words I think he might be a whole preseason before he gets a debut assuming we don't get steamrolled by injuries (touch wood).

LeCras for Masten makes sense given Masten isn't a forward. Neither is Partington, but hey why not let that little storm in a teacup rage on.

The only issue is form, but its reasonable that with a weeks rest perhaps LeCras can finally improve.

Nobody would be surprised if LeCras kicks 3 on Sunday. He punished the Power in Round 7, so he can do it again.

I know how it works. My assumptions are based on the MC choosing the likes of Lecras and Lycett ahead of others. So obviously it's pretty safe bet to guess they're dropping Cole and Schoey will stay out, Wellingham was injured. So not hard to get to the EXACT 4 I listed.

Are you saying I'm not allowed to interpret from the extended bench the implications on the 22? Get stuffed mate.

Yes it'll be more balanced if they kept Cole and Schoey in or by some stroke of magic Wellingham is fit. But you want to bet on that?

Geez, fans are stupid (yes, that would include me) and quick to overreact.
It's almost as if everyone plans to whinge in advance, irrespective of the actual outcomes.

Maybe we should wait until 3pm tomorrow before we freak out.

So you are melting about the teamsheet for a team which is yet to be selected.

There is one extra forward, defender and tall in the 25. That's perfectly normal.
