Priddis in for Masten
Lycett in for Petrie
Hurn in for Butler
Lecras in for cole

That's how I think the changes will go.

Priddis and Lecras shouldn't be playing imo but that's how the MC view it right now.

HOW THE **** DOES THIS TEAMSHEET EVEN WORK?!?!?

Lecras IN so who's out between Karps and Cripps? Or are they gonna play all 3?

Priddis IN so who's out between Priddis and Redden or are they gonna play both?

Lycett IN so who's a tall that's gonna be out between Vardy (in form), Petrie (in form), Darling (found form?).

Lycett, Lecras, Redden, Hutchings bench is awfully slow and heavily weighted to KPPs.

This MC...... :'(
If my maths is correct there are 35 possible combinations for the final interchange from those named. No point melting about 1 of the less likely ones before the team has been finalised.

I know how it works. My assumptions are based on the MC choosing the likes of Lecras and Lycett ahead of others. So obviously it's pretty safe bet to guess they're dropping Cole and Schoey will stay out, Wellingham was injured. So not hard to get to the EXACT 4 I listed.

Are you saying I'm not allowed to interpret from the extended bench the implications on the 22? Get stuffed mate.

Yes it'll be more balanced if they kept Cole and Schoey in or by some stroke of magic Wellingham is fit. But you want to bet on that?

You're entitled to assume what you like. Acting like those assumptions are fait accompli and going off on a rant on the basis that your guess will turn out to be 100% correct gets my goat though. As does you telling me to get stuffed, by the way.

The story with the team says that Wellingham is fit and was able to train all week. If he wasn't then there's no point naming him. Any of Masten, Hill, Partington, Nelson could have taken the final spot.

Nice overview, Just a quick question on that last paragraph, So shouldn't Partington be in for Masten then??
My view is that Masten should have been the travelling emergency last week and Partington played. We've disagreed on other things but safe to say we agree on that point

Now that said, of the players not in the 22 that played the Bulldogs, Partington was the best choice as the travelling emergency. It at least gave him a taste of travelling with the squad and he was the best player of those available to be brought in as a late change if the need arose. Yes it was unfortunate he didn't play at any level last week especially considering EP's bye this week meaning he misses two weeks of footy now but fixturing is outside the clubs control and they had to do what they thought best with the 23 that flew

I know that hasn't addressed your question but it's in response to other posts re Partington that I haven't quoted. Now your question

Priddis was injured last week and therefore unavailable. He has recovered sufficiently to play this week and as one of the clubs most highly regarded midfielders (in the match committees eyes at least) then he comes back in for the lowest performed mid which was Masten. I'd suggest that if you spoke to Partington right now he would understand and accept that Priddis is ahead of him so I doubt he'd be unduly upset over that (I'm not so confident he'd feel the same about Masten though)

There's an argument he should have been named in the 25 but Redden aside there's no genuine mids on the extended bench so nobody has really been named ahead of him in that sense

Anyone without the memory of a goldfish knows LeCras and Priddis will be picked this week despite being shizen most of the year.

Partington no games in 3 weeks after kicking 4, that's a good way to keep a player in form...

He missed last week and will miss this week. Not ideal but also not 3 weeks.

If both Ploddus and LeCrab play it is both disappointing and predictable. Simpson has repeatedly shown he doesn't have the balls to make big decisions, as evidenced in his first year of playing Cox, Lycett and Nic Nat in the same side.

Anyone can see the game has passed Ploddus by and it is like having 21 players on the field when the opposition have the ball.

LeCrab has been so out of form it is embarrassing. It should have to prove play some decent football with East Perth to earn selection again. Simpson is definitely creating a divide amongst the squad by continually playing favourites.

Does anyone think the M.C has now labeled common sense as "external noise"? This constant bashing has left them with a "us vs you" mentality. It's the only way to explain the pattern of picking tall sides and an uber slow midfield. Would also explain the deceptive attitude surrounding our injuries.

We have a club that has a disconnect and a blatant disregard for its supporter base.

For a very small, vocal and dare I say slightly melodramatic section of our fanbase, perhaps.

Wtf is this crap, thought that JK was almost a certainty to play? Guess it was all just BS and Hackdorn was right all along...
Wellingham is still in the team too, thought he was injured, haven't been keeping with how he's been going, but I guess it wasn't too bad?
And of course Lecca and Pridda are in... Surprised Masto is already an out.
Assuming Hurn and Lecca are in for Butler and Masten, and Pridda will be in for Redden.
Since they don't usually omit from the named starting 18, seems like Lycett will be 2nd ruck, with Petrie at FF. Surely Schoey won't come in for Cole, since we'd be way too tall, but it wouldn't surprise me... Meaning that we'd have 8 talls inc the rucks.
Ridiculous that Parto isn't even in the extended squad instead of Schoey.

Last game 24th June
Next available game 15th July

=3 weeks

By that logic everyone not in the 22 this week won't play a game for two weeks.

So he's missing an extra week. As I said, not ideal but not worth melting over.

Except on Thursdays apparently everything is worth melting over

Can we just for once see a lineup with no masten lecras and Prridis. Why is Simmo so stubborn? Let sheed redden, yeo and shuey play in the middle for like 4 games in a row. Apart from tackling, there is nothing Prridis could bring into the middle that others cant match. As good as his tackling is , he is so poor in other areas in the game that I really do not understand his inclusion. By the way, as a non biased Eagles fan, he should have not won Brownlow medal. That was a joke in my opinion.

P.S what the hell happened with naming partington as an emergency and then MIA this week??
Parto gets no respect, even you can't be arsed giving him a Capital letter.

Haha

Lecrab..."it"

Pretty sure it is a he. I do agree with you though.

Hoping Lecras boots 5 and finds some form, Priddis finds something and we dominate all day. This board absolutely revels in putting the boot into veterans who have bled blue and gold for a decade or more, and the few folk who are hoping "player x gets injured lel" for what ever reason should **** right off. Garbage form

I think we need to accept that Partington isn't really in the frame for selection at the moment. I suspect there is a reluctance to expose him at AFL level because they don't think his game will hold up at that level, evidenced by the fact that the more damaging, and more physically developed Venables seems closer to a debut despite performing worse statistically.

It's great that Partington is hitting the scoreboard on the outside but it sounds like until he develops more physically and is able to cope in the contest against bigger bodies he will be left to develop at WAFL level. So in other words I think he might be a whole preseason before he gets a debut assuming we don't get steamrolled by injuries (touch wood).

disagree wce are holding him back because they haven`t got a spot for him just yet same for Redden ,Masten ,Hill Schoey ,Lamb the depth will have to wait for injuries or poor form ..

Let's just label anyone unsatisfied with the current changes as "melting", despite the fact they are just wanting the best for the team and the future.

We aren't winning a premiership this year, Priddis and LeCras aren't part of our future and aren't in any form that warrants them to come in for their "leadership" or consistency of performance.

How is Priddis a better option than Partington?

Priddis has no future, out of form, last week proved he's not a vital cog of our midfield and against a quick attacking team like Port offers no coverage.

Partington is part of the future, is in excellent WAFL form, can start learning how to be part of the midfield, can learn where he's at against a strong AFL midfield.

Partington won't make a big difference this week I'll admit, he's a fringe player, but he deserves a go, Priddis and LeCras are getting a game on name alone.

but it sounds like until he develops more physically and is able to cope in the contest against bigger bodies he will be left to develop at WAFL level.

Which would be fine, If the guy being selected ahead of him wasn't one of the weakest midfielders in the league.

It doesn't explain why they have preferred Venables and Mutimer so far. Partington didn't crack an emergency spot even after 3 goals and 22 possessions (and solid form statistically prior to that).
