What changes should we make? Should there be any made.

I think we should keep this team because we played so well last night and I think this lineup can take us places.

sheeds admitted last night that this is not our best team. We need some more speed to go with the hard bodies we have already around the ball. Lovett, Nash and one of dempsey/NLM/Jetta would do nicely.

We only had one guy who could break up congestion last night with the speed and run and that was Winderlich and he was rooted by the 4th quarter. Davey also needs a running mate up forward, earlier in the year jetter gave him a chop out and we lost nothing when davey came off for a breather. When davey is off the field now our forward line looks a tad one dimensional.

Unfortunately all our quick guys are injured or returning from injury so our hands are tied at selection somewhat.

Nash and maybe dyson in(if form warrants it.)

Out: Stants (injured)
Campo (too slow for AAMI)

In: Hislop
Nash
(would like to see Jetta but not after one week back if he plays)
Possibly Reimers.

Stanton isn't ruled out just yet, unless I've missed something.

OUT - Monfries, Campo
IN - Bradley, Hislop.

If Bradley plays another good game on Monday, he deserves his spot in the side. Angus looks like he could do with a spell, I'd like to see what Kep can do on a HFF.

Out: MJ JJ ??

JJ was fantastic last night I thought. Really made an impact in the time he was on the ground.

MJ looks to be struggling, but he's an important player to our structure. At the moment he's allowing McVeigh and Slattery to play in the midfield when required.

His second half was an improvement.

I didnt think JJ did much last night.. Can only remember him doing one thing when Alwyn fumbled it and he ran past and got the ball and kicked it into the forward line.. MJ is too slow.. Got killed in the first quarter by Wirra and Le Cras... Second half was an improvement however..

Had a hand in a few clearances as well.

He was tough in close. In the third quarter it seemed as if everytime he touched it, we had a shot at goal.

I thought he was very, very important. Didn't do the standout things we've seen from him, but did a lot of little things that added up in the end.

Fair enough.. I still don't think it was one of his better games.. Is he carrying an injury? Strange for him to start on the bench

Can't drop Campo after last nights game....

OUT - Monfries
Laycock (looked good up forward, but want him to play a full game or two at bendigo for some fitness)
Stanton (if injury keeps him out)

IN: Bradley - Going great in the forward line for Bendigo, play him there all match. Just feel that he'd give us more on a bigger ground than Laycock. Bigger tank and a touch quicker.
Hislop/Lonergan - Time to give one of them a run.
Nash (if Stants is out) - Hopefully regains fitness on Monday for Box Hill.. Good skills.

Out: Stanton, (providing he remains injured) monfries
Ins: Jetta lovett (depending on who is fitter)

i feel lovett and jetta dont need a run in the VFL. jetta would but i feel he would be a straight in due to the need for speed and also to help out davey. (at the momment he is doing pretty much all of the quick chasing, jetta would take the pressure off davey).

lovett aswell would be a straight in..

NLM needs a few VFL games i feel and dempsey isnt in our best 22 yet, needs to prove himself in the VFL first.

Monfries playedvery poorly last night, needs a run in the VFL to get some form up. jetta will take his place and lovett can attempt to fill stantons void on the ball.

other question marks exist over:
Jason Laycock (probably need two ruckman against port) but didnt too too much last night in the ruck, was pretty good down forward but that isnt why he is in the team
Mark Bolton (played well enough to stay in the team last night but only just
Campo (played well last night but one bad game could see him dropped to the VFL, needs to keep form going

We seriously need to add some run to the side on AAMI as it's a pretty big ground.

Out: Stanton(inj) and a mix of Layocck, Campo, Monfries, MJ, Bolton
Ins: Nash and a mix of Lovett, Bradley, Cole, Hislop, Lonergan

Probably have a better idea after the Bendigo game and what is happening with injuries.

I think Mark Johnson has reached a point where the coaches need to look for a suitable match-up before they pick the side. He can't play on a small forward with pace.

stanton will play against port.. sheeds said in a press conference after the game that it was just a rolled ankle and they were considering putting him back on in the game but it was just feeling a bit sore but hell be back. good news..

He could handle Rodan

Rodan's surprisingly quick given his stocky frame. He's well off for fast-twitch muscle fibres.

Why does everyone want Nash back in the side?

Showed very little against Sydney and couldn't get into the game at all. I would say he did less than Dyson did against Richmond. Aside from that, all he's got is one good performance for Bendigo. If he plays well for Bendigo, he should be considered but, in my opinion, he is a long way off being a definate inclusion. For those of you who thinks he's a good replacement for Stanton, I feel Dyson would be a far more appropriate replacement. I like hsi game for Bendigo last week and I think he deserves to get a go in a position of great responsibility in the midfield.
