When it comes to PJ you have to believe.

I'm convinced little stinga of 2 thing's.

A- you need to get to more games or buy foxtel with an iq box

B- you have a little brain.

Miller is a far better fooyballer than PJ. PJ is a spud along with Newton, Meeson, etc.

Why are you anti Miller? He is a player on our list and getting payed to play at the highest level. Johnson contrary to want you think was behind Miller in form and should not have been picked in our side. Miller has to play this week we need a big bloke in our forward line and whether you like it or not he is the option. He is ahead of Newton, Johnson, and few other ruckman. His 3 BOGS warrant his return.

It would be good if he had 3 best on grounds but he doesn't, Stockdale and Macdonald were both listed as better than Miller. The only time he was listed as best on ground was when he was playing against 17 year olds on the Gold Coast.

We don't need a big man in the middle, our forward structure was shit when we had the big man in there and Miller would be no different to Johnson.

In: Aussie, Morton, Gysberts, Macdonald

Out: Bruce (inj), Bate (inj), Rivers, Johnson

Besides Brogan all Port have as a back-up ruckman is the inexperienced Jackson Trengove and seeing as Tredrea is out of Port's side and they have no big KPF's of note in their forward line we can have the luxury of using Warnock as the relief ruckman for Jamar.

Good post. Still worried about a net loss of 3 mature bodies, but I guess it's the price you pay for 1) team balance and 2) having fewer useless spud ruckmen in the team.

I wouldn't be too worried with the inexperience that's coming in and the experience going out.

Gysberts has the likes of McDonald, Moloney, Jones and Jamar in the middle with him.

Aussie and Morton have have a bit of experience between them to go with Davey, Sylvia and Green up forward.

Port aren't the most physically imposing team either so I feel we can get away with it this week.

Aussie and Morton are in our best 22, MacDonald is basicly a straight swap for Rivers (and a better match up for Port) and i'm willing to bet Gysberts goes harder than PJ. So all things being equal its not that bad.

This. Definitely This!

No interest in a quick return for Dunn? While he hadn't been converting his opportunities, I thought we missed the lead up link target he can provide. Particularly when we lost Bate in patches and Johnson was the target. I also felt he had been having a dip, just lacked polish.

Either Dunn or Miller will come in if Bate doesn't get up, however bate did come back out and played ok (considering the delivery and amount of handballs) so i think he should be fit to play.

What are people thoughts on Bennell? He is very up and down not only week to week but quarter to quarter, i was annoyed at some of his efforts on the weekend particularly trying to mark from bhind, when he needed. Can we play both he and aussie in the same fwd line?

I really hope both Morton and Gysberts play this week.

I'd consider changing Rivers to Garland, but otherwise loving it.

Rivers won't be dropped, (nor should he be), so not sure why people keep including him in their lists.

MacDonald for Bruce, seems a no-brainer. For Bate/CHF Miller would seem to have a return sewn up.

Wonna in for sentimental reasons, hard to read who will go to give him a place.

Gysberts, Morton unlucky, Dunn, Cheney, Jetta slightly less unlucky.

Possibly because we are too tall in defense and there is no match-up for him.

As a West Coast supporter I watched the game last week and kept asking myself why is Bailey playing Sylvia up forward?

I understand he might be needed down there but he was basically useless. There's no point having him sit up there and do nothing, any reason he doesn't get a decent run on ball to get him into the game? If he was only getting 8 touches but kicking 3 goals a game maybe it would be justified, but he's not getting the best delivery down there and surely would be of more use higher up the ground?

Just curious as an observer, is it bad coaching or some other reason?

That sums it up pretty well in my view.

Fair enough, but there's not even a Casey game this week (interstate match), so it would be big call.

More importantly for me though, DB mentioned him as a future captain the other night, so I suspect the FD see him differently to a few of the posters here.

We shall see soon enough!

I think he's playing injured. I would rather him on the ball and pushing forward as well but IMO he shouldn't be in the team at the moment because he doesn't really have his normal zip.

i think its purely because we are lacking a strong mark up forward... and col provides that... but i agree, he is of much more use to us from the midfield and has kicked 8 from the midfield this year... when he plays in the forward line he has kicked... none or one

9 years of crap. I know he is your son and all but you have to take your rose coloured glasses off and realise he is no good and is a constant failure and we will go nowhere with him in the side and when he fails again, which he will maybe not straight away but he will fail because he always does I will remind you of it.
All the players you mentioned are no good, some players just can't take the next step from being good VFL players to becoming good AFL players Newton, Johnson and Miller all fit into that category. You don't realise that Miller has done nothing at AFL level for years and your telling me that I need to go to more games (do you mean VFL games where Miller belongs?) laughable comes to mind.

yeah i agree bring in Gysberts!
he's been showing solid form at casey, time for the call up i say. Give Bruce a run in the seconds for Macdonald, he's been very poor even though statisically he's had alright games. He's had little to no impact on the game in my opinion. Although we have a very young team out there, and his experience is vital to this young group so i doubt he will be infact dropped.

Out: PJ In: Dunn - against Westhoff why not just go with Dunn
Out: Hughes In: Miller - I don't like Miller, but he might be what the team is needing at the moment
Out: Rivers In: Macdonald - need more run
Out: Trengove In: Gysberts - simply to give Jack a rest and Gysberts a go
Out: Bennell In: Wonaeamirri - Jamie not quite doing enough, Wona for his hometown (well kind of)

FB: Garland Warnock Bartram
HB: Macdonald Frawley Grimes
C: Scully Moloney Davey
HF: Watts Bate Jones
FF: Sylvia Miller Green
Foll: Jamar McDonald McKenzie
Int: Dunn Gysberts Bruce Wonaeamirri
Emer: Hughes, Bennell, Jetta

Sylvia gets one more week.

If Bruce doesn't pull up then lets put Bennell back to the half back flank. If Bate doesn't come up then play Hughes.

Out: Trengove
