Revised timeline for Dunkley sounds positive. Forwards stocks looking very thin

McLean has to come in surely for Porter.
Cavarra, Trengove in the mix?
Would still make the following changes for this week.
out: gowers la.young porter(inj)
In: Lloyd lew.young McLean
Offers a better midfield option, gives us a second tall up forward plus flexibility to swing back if needed and a natural small forward to help the forward line function better
I'm up for that. Wouldn't mind giving Cavarra a second chance too.

Would much prefer cavarra to Lloyd. Lloyd is great at sneaking a goal but cavarra does that just aswell whilst adding defensive pressureFB: Williams Keath Daniel
HB: Crozier Cordy Wood
C: Richards Bont Macrae
HF: Vandermeer LeYoung McLean
FF: Wallis Bruce Weightman
F: English Smith Libba
IC: Lipinski JJ Lloyd/Cavarra Suckling
Lloyds form this year has been so disappointing after a great 2019. Cavarra deserves another opportunity, hope we see him getting a game soon.Would much prefer cavarra to Lloyd. Lloyd is great at sneaking a goal but cavarra does that just aswell whilst adding defensive pressure
I thought he also did it v lions at the Gabba also a rd 23 game in 2015? I recall we played a young side. Maybe I’m mistaken.Which games?
I'm assuming R23 v Freo was one. Not a great comparison to the current situation for several reasons.
Which was the other occasion?
It's a very winnable game against port of the last couple of performances are any thing to go byI thought he also did it v lions at the Gabba also a rd 23 game in 2015? I recall we played a young side. Maybe I’m mistaken.
If and it’s a big if, we can get the job done v tigers, I’d be inclined to rest en mass v port and reload v lions and crows.
So you want to throw the game against Port ... yeah nahI thought he also did it v lions at the Gabba also a rd 23 game in 2015? I recall we played a young side. Maybe I’m mistaken.

You do realise that Cavarra has kicked a grand total of one AFL goal right?Would much prefer cavarra to Lloyd. Lloyd is great at sneaking a goal but cavarra does that just aswell whilst adding defensive pressure
I do. From one game where he got nearly no delivery and the delivery the forwards did get was horribleYou do realise that Cavarra has kicked a grand total of one AFL goal right?
We are playing WA teams in hub.We will get a bye soon, probably round 14. Still need to play WA teams and with the 14 day quaratine.
I think you could get away with voluntarily resting a player in every line in a condensed package of games (ie what we're about to embark on) if changes weren't forced upon you by injury. So perhaps 3 before you move into significant disruption to chemistry and familiarity. That scenario might be the ideal if you're going down the player management path but unlikely because of the random nature of injuries so if you have to have injuries, hopefully they are minor and not concentrated in a specific area, especially midfield. We need to dismiss this notion that resting a whole lot of players at once is a realistic option.
Bevo is not going to leave all of Bont, Macrae, Libba and 4-5 other regulars out of any one game. Not even under the pretext that 2-3 of them are "sore" or suffering "tightness".
First reason is that the AFL will send a stern "please explain" and possibly issue sanctions. Perhaps not for tanking (although that could be argued) but for the bad look it gives the game. All clubs are on board to try to make this f**ed-up season work the best it can. Effectively throwing a game in order to give players a rest is not in keeping with that.
Second reason is that's not the way Bevo operates. He might adopt a risky approach at times (such as having Gowers plus 3 sub-10 gamers play against the Suns) but he is still angling to win those games and in fact pulled it off against GC. I doubt he'd ever deliberately approach a H&A game and say "I think we'll sacrifice this one".
Possibly a third reason might have something to do with sports betting. It should never come into it, but the AFL has sold its soul to the devil on that one so it's always going to be a background consideration.
We have a relatively young list (very few over 30), playing shortened games with extended breaks after goals and we are getting 5-6 day breaks, so it's not all that bad. Player recovery rates will be carefully monitored. I imagine midweek training is less intense than during a normal season.
No doubt there will be some players rested at some stage (eg Libba) but I'd be surprised if it was more than 2 at any one time.
Does suggest that he was putting his head over it though to cop a concussion. Hope it's not a bad one for himSo looks like the forward line remains short.
Hopefully Naughton is only 2 more
Schache concussion = bad timing
And Lewis Young is playing back in the scratch matches possibly for defensive back up.
Wish we could call up Jamarra.A year early...
