Sturt had the bye... so Martin and Riley would have missed unless they got in on some reserves action. Not sure if that is the case.

INS:
Sellar, Davis, Gunston

OUTS:
Griffin, Stevens, Armstrong

Apparently Gunston had one of his best games for the dogs on the weekend but was close to being dropped the week before... he tooks some huge contested marks and kicked a couple of goals. However, if we can justify Armstrong in the side we can surely argue for Gunston to get some further exposure. The other smokey would be Riley from Sturt who I really like the look of. Martin a chance also... but he probably needs to prove himself a few more weeks with Sturt.

Is it time to upgrade Wright from North Adelaide... I don't think a week has past where he hasn't been named in their best players.

I think Jaensch needs a spell, just isn't upto it atm. Hopefully Knights is ready to come back in for him, otherwise he probably survives. With the way we have been selecting the team this year, I don't really know what other changes we will make.

where can i find some season stats on riley? i seem to remember him being pretty consistant and winning a bit of the ball, but it could be my mind playing tricks (wouldnt be the first time)

I agree :thumbsu:

If he can handle the pace of AFL then bring him in.

Ins =Knights, Martin & Davis (would love to know the reason he was dropped)

Outs = Symes, Jaensch & Armstrong.

Craigy more or less said in his presser a few days back that it was a pure pecking order decision. In his mind, Rutten, Stevens and Bock were all ahead.

2 changes are simple without looking at experienced players form.
Armstrong -- Simply not up to it and really no reason to leave on list been here long enough .
Jaensch -- Patchy last week and out of depth yesterday.
Then have to look at Bock or Stevens for Davis
Symes and Porps would need to be looked at if had lots of options .
Can anyone tell me how a very much fringe player like Symes gets into the leadership group.
Knights and Goody if fit are definites in and have to look at but
Gunston -- needs more than 1 good game
Martin -- If played this weekend might be more of a certain to get in.
Schmidt -- Although wont add a lot to team offers a lot more than Armstrong .
Wright -- Like his ball getting ability but is he reay I dont know havent seen enough
In ruck bit hard to make change as Griffin been by far best out of 2 last few weeks until last night and not too sure Sellar done enough but need to look at sooner or later

Id be happy to see Craig show a bit of confidence in Jaensch and keep him in this week.

We all want to see these young blokes develop, to do this we have to accept that they will go missing, and make mistakes. I would be more than happy to keep Jaensch in the side and give him some confidence by showing a bit of faith.

I reckon he needs two more games before we drop him. I think he's still finding his feet at AFL pace, and I think he's close to cracking it and being able to make a serious impact on a game. He was looking like a mini-porps when he was on yesterday, and while he definitely had off patches, I'd want to invest a little bit more time in him before seding him back to SANFL, I think.

When it comes to the youngsters, I'm firmly on the side of investing every game possible into Henderson, Davis, Sloane. Walker I think has hit stride (if not kicking accuracy; it's not so much investing in him as having had the investment pay off. H's first 22 for mine.), and Jaensch I think is close. The rest ... I'd be happy to invest time in them next year. Wouldn't mind seeing Wright or Martin take a run.

No way can Knights come back in. He's shown little in the SANFL. Bocky looked good at the Eagles but his game for the Crows shows that form meant little and he needed more time. Davis definitely should be in and maybe Martin. But there shouldn't be too many changes. When we played Geelong we were far better

Out - Bock, Stevens, Jaensch, Porps, Armstrong.

In - Davis, SMcK/Sellar, Knights, Martin, Goodwin.

i dont mind this... maybe leave jaensch in dependant on knights fitness/form, but otherwise good thinking
