Why rush Gumbleton? Johns has proved a more than handy replacement and Gumbleton from most reports isn't anywhere near big enough yet. Young KPP take a while to come on look at Roughead still struggling because he was thrown in way to early.

As much as you guys are dissapointed about the weekend, I really still consider the bombers a bogey team. You need to hold your conistency and you will play finals, your forward line can do alot of damage.

Key Match up's:

McIntosh/Hale vs Laycock/Ryder/Hille? - Hale will be back in this week, is Hille back?

Edwards vs Mal Michael/Fletcher - This will be very interesting. Edwards has a big tank and is very quick on the lead, and has easily the best contested mark at the club. Took 10 contested marks in the 1st half against C.Bolton, was the key to beating the swans. Fletcher could really hurt the Roo's with his rebound off of Half Back.

Matt Campbell vs Alwyn Davey - May not play directly on each other, but if one is influecing the game more than another, they might just line up on each other. Campbell would be the quicker of the two, but Davey gets more of the ball up the ground.

Harris/Simpson/Wells vs Watson/Stanton/Johnson - Will decide the game in my opinion, who ever can get the cleanest ball into the forward line will win. Wells has been in ripping form, is the danger man of the game imo along with Lucas.


Gibson/Firrito/Petrie/Watt vs Lloyd/Lucas - The match up im most worried about, Firrito has been awesome in recent weeks on the likes of Hall, J.Brown, Mooney & Rocca. Will be his biggest test. All are very quick for the height, so should be able to stay with Lucas and Lloyd, but their talent might shine through.

Grant vs McPhee - Grant broke the game open against Syd with 4 goals and 10 marks, but Sewell proved he doesnt like close checking opponents, and McPhee isnt one of them, will sheedy match them up as this?

Angus Monfried vs Jesse Smith - May line up on each other, which should ve very exciting, two future stars of the comp

Anyways i'd wait for the VFL today. I'd be surprised if Lloyd played, Hille will come in i'd assume. Lonergan and Houli can really push there claims today with strong showings.

I would be good if Gumbleton could come in, play at CHF and we play lucas at FF, try something different and see what the young feller has to offer in the future, but he's out with a hammy.
It wouldv'e been nice to see Hansen & Gumbleton go up against each other and see who's got the edge over the other at this stage of their careers!

-Davey would be the quicker of the 2, he's lightning fast, not even cambell could catch him.

-As for the midfield battle, Winderlich on Wells, JJ on Harris and Stanton on Simpson.

-McVeigh will get the job on Grant i think, McPhee will play as a running half abck and cut off anything/everything around half back (hopefully).

When they were both playing sanfl last year, everyone said campbell was the quickest player in the league

God the reality of this terrifies me! And I'd lean towards mcVeigh on Grant, he'll need to ause all of his experience here.

No way we can think about leaving Angus out this week. Dyson, sure. Watson, perhaps, but this is really when I'd love to see Davey, stants and JJ start getting some chemistry going on. Quick centre breaks to good HFFs and wings are everything this week - if we can't keep up we're 8 goals down by half time

Monfires has been nothing short of poor this year. While Watson has been gathering possesions and getting a couple of clangers, Monfires hasnt been getting any possesions or kicking any goals. I dont see the value of him i nthe side in his current form.

FWIW alwyn isnt even the fastest bomber, that title belongs to a bloke who is out injured at the minute in Courtenay Dempsey. i can't wait to see him in the side with Davey, Lovett and a fully fit jetta.

Dyson isn't up to it, cut our losses and put development into Lonergan. At least we know he'll have a dip. Let's have a look at Houli.
