There's an interchange bench to cover for that.

They effectively replace Dyson and Heffernan so I don't see any real loss there only upside.

I just had a look at our injury list and to be honest there isnt much else we can pick. It's a shame Dempsey and nash are injured.

without a doubt
In: Houli, Lonergan, Hille
Out:Bolton, Watson and Heffernan

I think NLM needs a game in the vfl and Lloyd will probably be another week away

Campo didnt play for Bendigo today so i doubt if he will be selected.

Lonergan and Houli in this week. Heff and one of Dyson or Watson out.
Hille to play if ready which it looked like he would be on friday. Take your pick on Bolts or Laycock to go out depending on what backline structure we want in regard to Ryder.
MJ under pressure as well as North have some very quick small forwards so unless he plays forward there may be no match up.

Defs would have Bolton out and keep Laycock just for the mere fact to keep Ryder playing down at chb. I'd really like to see Ryder develop more as a chb rather than a ruckman. To me its a waste playing Bolton because :
1 i dont see him in our best 22 and
2 by playing him younger player development suffers (i.e Ryder and Laycock)

I think that the bombers need players like nash or cole that can run out of the backline and hit a target at centre half forward. then have someone like campo that hits a target regularly. We need more skillful players.

In: Lonergan Houli Campo Hille Cole

Out: Bolton Heffernan Dyson MJ Watson

I think MJ needs to get his form back in the 2s, just like he did to JJ and JJ is comin bak strong

After todays VFL game where Campo didn't play and Cole had a decent game I'm willing to give Cole a game. We need more dash from defence so lets see if he can come good.

Out : Bolton, Dyson, Laycock, Heffernan
In : Hille, Cole, Houli, Lonergan

So you want Bolton and Dyson to hold their spots in the side

Correct. Ryder has shown he can be a second ruckman, so there is no need for Laycock to be in. Heff had a poor game and we just cant have a team with JJ, Pev, Watson and Heff; far too slow. Monfries needs a reality check. He shouldnt be getting picked on potential, he should be picked on merit. His form so far this season doesnt warrant inclusion, so lets drop him for a week or 2, give him a run in the Bendigo midfield and see how he goes.

As for Dyson, well you know my stance on him. Bolton played well enough and would be an ideal matchup for someone like Leigh Brown or Aaron Edwards.

I don't know about the first statement, but totally agree about Bolton. Thought it was a really good game from him.

Bolton should not be in the best 22. There are people like Judd, Kerr, Goods, west and so on, playing this sport. He done alright for his standards, which is no where near the AFL satndard. Plus wouldn't you rather want houli or lonerggen in the team?

We got murdered once again in the guts. Watson is fine for all those great little handpasses..but try to get the f---g ball in centre bounces Jobe and kick the thing.

We have big,big problems around the rucks. Laycock just can't win a clear tap to a rover...he's killing me!!!

Towards the end,Sheedy just gave up with Dyson,Watson and Stanton at the centre bounce and had MJ,Hef and Hird in...it still didn't help:eek:

OUT: Dyson (never again,I've had it with him) Bolton,Watson

IN: Houli,Hille,Lonegan

Can someone explain what exactly Sheedy wants Heffernan to do in games?
Is he doing what he's supposed to be doing..like tagging...I can't work out wtf he does all day.

Johnno will be right.....calls for him to be dropped are silly.

I wish they would follow my suggestion and leave him around the goals..all day.

McPhee lost us that game btw.

Did McPhee choose to play on him, no. Sheedy did, he's the one who left McPhee as a KPP on buddy and didn't use him as a running half back. It's not all McPhee's fault, it's Sheedy's!

Your right about MJ, ive been wanting him to play forward for ages, it's the only place on the ground that he'll be able to have an effect on the game IMO. It'd be great watching him taking hangers in the square and kicking a few goals a every game.

My ins and outs are similar except for a few:
Ins: Houli, Lonergan, Hille
Outs: Laycock (needs to get match fit and dominate a few games at VFL level), Bolton, Watson.

Give Dyson one more week, and if we don't see a good game from him, back to the VFL for the rest of the year.

He does get the ball in the centre bounces. He had 8 contested possesions and 7 clearances.

That's complete madness.

We have a defensive unit of Mal, Fletch, Ryder, Mcphee, Mcveigh and others. We do not need Bolton down there. We need players that will provide run, a bit of grunt and some polish. Apart from running into wrong positions Bolton can't do anything. I'd rather chance my luck with a Richie Cole than a Bolton.

Angus has shown he can play at this level. He hasn't been great this year but has been much better than Dyson. Why drop someone who can play and give another chance to someone that can't?

Well as ive said, I thnk Dyson will be a good player if Sheedy actually gives him game time. He is one of our best at F50 entries, as he showed yesterday by hitting Johns lace out twice.

Angus hasn't played as well as Dyson this year IMO, since Dyson has been in the team. Their stats are about on a par and seeing as though Gus has been given more game time, he just hasnt shown enough. In fact, Monfries has had 53 possesions since round 3, Dyson has had 52 with far less game time. Fact is everyone is knocking Dyson when he is actually doing quite well for the time he spends on the park.

And as for Bolton, I agree now that he should probably be dropped for Cole after Cole's performance today, but when I posted my last opinion, I hadnt read the Bendigo write up so I didnt know Cole had played well. That was my bad.

Just listened to Bomber Radio...

* Nash to be given the formal ok this week. Will be monitored closely.
* NLM most likely to resume with Bendigo.
* Cole very good today and will come into consideration to play as will Bradley, Lonergan and Houli.
* Gumbleton's hammy is a 3-4 week injury unfortunatelly as he'd be a chance with Lloydy out.
* Hislop probably would've gotten a game soon if not for being suspended.
* Garry O' noted Winders only had 3 kicks from his 18 possies, wants him to be kicking it more. Put his average game down to missing a few. Quinn will monitor Winders and Welsh for the first 2 weeks as with any hammy as that is when they are most likely to re-do them.

*Mcveigh wasn't pleased when someone mentioned that we might'nt be good enough for finals footy saying that they had worked there asses off to have a good year. And that the players would be very disapointed if they didn't make it.

Stats that mean nothing because he did little else with his kicks and running after his opponents.

Its F----g McPhee's fault for not doing his job ffs!!. He is supposed to spoil and not let the star hal forward get the bloody ball.
He was way behind some of franklin's leads. P--s poor effort imo.

You mean LIFE don't you?

No, Buddy won it for them.

No,McPhee let him win it for them.

No one could have stopped Buddy in the form he was in. He kicked 4 goals on Fletcher FFS. You are just going to have to realies that Buddy played an awesome game and no one could have stopped him. He kicked 4 or 5 goals from general play. He was too good.
