Beating Geelong and Collingwood were both great and dont count for nothing, but a huge issue for me is why Bluey cant get the boys motivated when we play teams we should beat. Im not saying sack the bloke at all, I think Bluey has alot to offer, but I hope some questions are being asked. Wish we still had Hinkley at our club, thats for sure!

GOLD COAST
Injuries may spare the axe for a few players when the Suns host St Kilda on Saturday night. Zac Smith (ankle) and Charlie Dixon (quad) will both miss from last weekend's inept loss against the Brisbane Lions, with a number of players in line to return. Trent McKenzie (hamstring) and Michael Rischitelli (quad) are likely recalls, while Tom Murphy has served a one-game suspension and may be called upon. With Smith, Dixon and Tom Nicholls injured, Daniel Gorringe will get a call-up in the ruck after two games at NEAFL level following an Achilles injury, while Timmy Sumner is a chance to slot back into the forward line. Kade Kolodjashnij (hamstring) might be another week away. - Michael Whiting

Must play fit players can not afford to have players going down and leave us with no bench.in saying that sumner needs to come back in and would give Osborne ago stil need smalls to kick some goals hope matera/boston.gorringe will come in but I would ruck Thompson and day

We're past the point of giving up games to players who don't deserve them. Stick with the group that are our future and get as many games into them now.
Nothing to gain by dropping them to the NEAFL where they'll learn bugger all. Our future is when we have the majority of our list at 24+ years of age. The past 2 weeks have been disappointing true, but it's all part of the process. I'd like to see a Swallow, Jaeger or Bennell run with Lenny Hayes this week and learn from a champion and stop his influence. Dan Gorringe to come in and make a real statement.
If we don't come out fired up from the first bounce this week I'd be surprised. Stanley has been fantastic for a young group, but he shouldn't be our best player on any day - like he was at the Gabba. That should be a slap in the face for this group with their talent.

Who we send out on field this Saturday should directly reflect the effort made by players vs. the Lions.

I watched the first quarter of QClash 8 and wrote down who I thought stood out, and who made costly mistakes that resulted directly in a Brisbane goal. I only recorded it up until it started bucketing down purely because of the slippery surface. Up until it rained, there was literally NO excuse for how pathetically we played.

Keep in mind that this is solely for the first quarter:

I thought the standout star was Aaron Hall. Played really well overall, was great when attacking and great when defending. Similarly, Jack Martin was playing very well. His ball skills were outstanding, but was let down by everyone else.

Matt Shaw played pretty well too, I thought. I noticed that he quite regularly broke away from the Brissy player who was meant to be on him, and added to the game positively overall.

Special mention goes to Dixon and May.

Now for the negatives....

Lemmens needs to be booted back to NEAFL for the rest of this season. He was terrible. Stupid mistakes which came from a lack of motivation and laziness. Until he can prove that he is ready to play for a premier club in the AFL, he doesn't deserve another game.

Bennell was lazy, but had his moments.

Smith. Regardless of how his injury turns out, he doesn't deserve a spot for the rest of this season. For such an otherwise decent player, his performance was less than pathetic. His laziness and stupidity directly resulted in two Lions' goals, and his overall impact on field for the Suns was non-existent.

Everyone who I didn't mention, in my opinion, was entirely mediocre. Prestia, O'Meara, Swallow, etc. Poor game. No excuses.

The Suns are over committing at the contest leaving their direct opponents wide open.
Contested Football stats are over rated and don't mean nothing if players can't
move the ball quickly and efficiently forward.

Safe, risk free, error free, glacial pace ball movement around the boundary to prevent turnovers
is counter productive and very predictable for the opposition to defend and rebound.

Glacial pace ball movement around the boundary also prevents the ball being moved quickly into the
forward line allowing opposition players plenty of time to get back to fulfill their defensive duties.

McKenna needs to release the shackles and allow a very talented team to take the game on
No Risk No Reward

Anthony Hudson's most at stake for this weekend on afl360 tonight was Guy McKenna. said he need to get a response from his team. And if he doesn't there's a lot at stake for his reputation

If Jackson doesn't come in I will spew.
Does'nt deserve a game , been playing the last couple of games in the middle , but a few ahead of him , think his papers are stamped to b e honest.

Good to see sumner in the team. Hopefully he can stay in an contribute with some hard at it footy. Which we need. Snag a couple as well.

Can't believe Lemmens has been given another game after last weekend's performance. This isn't an U12s game FFS.

He's first year player and managed to hold down a spot Allen hasn't been able to crack into for 3 years.

Allen is a forgetable player and while it's great he's tearing up the NEAFL, he's tearing up the NEAFL.

I couldn't care less about Allen really, but in reality there's nobody to replace Lemmens should he be dropped. Doesn't change the fact that he doesn't deserve a game. Send him back to the NEAFL along with Allen
