Hombsch did do well but Jonas is better
Pretty sure I read somewhere battle is out for 4-6 weeksWith Membry, Battle and McCartin, there is Depth to play Hombsch, Jonas and Clurey and allow Dougal to be the +1 Defender. Also if they are monitoring Jonas’ Hammy there is always the chance we give him another week to be sure. The old rule with Hammies was when it was fine, give it one more just in case.

When interviewed on TEN Brendan Lade seemed pretty adamant that we will not be playing Dixon, Marshall, Westhoff and Watts togrther in our forward line. Westhoff's form in the forward half has probably blind sided Ken and Co. Ladey was also pretty pleased with Jack Watts' form in the SANFL so it could be Watts for Marshall this week.
Yes clubs win Premierships, not teams. What a champ Jack Hombsch is. Has become a depth player but just keeps doing a solid job and presenting with a terrific attitude regardless of whether he's playing for the Magpies or the Power on any given weekend. Guys like this make footy clubs.
Shows you how good our depth is when Watts and Marshall have to battle it out for a spot in the firsts.
Marshall and Watts are AFL quality, and both deserve to play both in the 1sts. Westy spent a lot of time in defence last week. He gets thrown back there when the defence is struggling. Took some telling marks. Westy also relieved Ryder in the ruck. It's not like all four players will play in the forward 50 all of the time. And why not play all 4 for parts of the game.argh listening to Lade thats going to be the case. unfortunately they forget about how well round 1 went up forward.
Our forward line isnt working at the moment. go back and watch round 1 v freo.
I want all of Marshall dixon Watts and westhoff in
Round 1 was the best our forward line has looked all year. But let's never do that again because reasons.
Hard for me to melt atm, won 6 out of 7...the one we lost was the give hawthorn 50m penalties like candy. We're good...for now.Should be one of the more interesting melt er selection nights considering which of Watts Marshall Trengove Pittard Jonas DBJ are selected
We've at least had two genuine KPF's every game this year, but still it does the head in.Round 1 was the best our forward line has looked all year. But let's never do that again because reasons.
Ryder did not play most of the game. Westhoff was in the ruck.Round 1 was the best our forward line has looked all year. But let's never do that again because reasons.
All leaks and associated talk can be found in the The Ken Awakens thread.Where is the leaking of our team early?!
In round 1 Westhoff played across the middle and mainly helped out in defence, then had to help ruck against Sandi when Paddy went down. He wasn't a factor up forward.
As Lade said he is now playing forward, yes he still drops back to support the defence, but his scoreboard impact is undeniable. It's a reasonable position. Having 4 tall forwards isn't going to be any more helpful than 3. I would rather another really quick medium/small forward in the mix than a 4th tall.
And his best games over the last few years have come as the floating 3rd tall fwd. Many of us have been calling for him to play that role, his natural role, for a long time.Blindsided? He was a forward before he became Mr. Fix it. Short memories.
