We need to play him now though. With OMac come good, you need a whipping boy.
Someone needs to deflect away from Gus and Hunt

But to be serious weid should get another few weeks to see what he can do.

Big ANB fan but probably needs a spell. Hate it because I think we look better when he is playing well on the forward flank, works hard to provide an option and uses it well. Just not working for him at the moment.

Hope Trac is good to go.

I wish we could drop no-one. I don't like Harmes but he will stay, I like ANB but on form he would probably go.

Given how the Saints midfield are going at the moment, it's a perfect game to get a guy like ANB back into form.
Maybe if we actually played ANB onball

Petracca - Injections take it out of you, regardless what part of the body there on. Even if he was out of hospital might give him one more week. No need to rush him back at 80%

Anb - big fan, but in terrible form, needs to find some touch

Spargo - if it’s between him and Garlett I still go Garlett. let the young fella rest and maybe play the next round if there’s a spot

Weideman - besides his last quarter were he found some touch, he did nothing when it mattered. Wouldn’t be upset if he keeps his spot as I know he needs game time to develop

Ins - Garlett, Pedo
Out - ANB, Weideman

When O'mac was starting out we pumped games into him despite having older blokes who were in much better form. A short time later and he's taking the #1 forward and rarely getting beaten.

I see Weid in a similar position to when Oscar was starting out. If we drop him from a training run against the Aints I'm going postal.

Why? Guy is far less suited to on the ball - doesn't have the size or the smarts for it. He's a running machine so let the boy run, but he needs to be getting it more and using it better.

Not long term, but I’m saying there’s no point playing him just bc St Kilda have a crap midfield (as the post I quoted suggested we should do) if we’re not actually gonna give him an opportunity to get his hands on the ball

He's got plenty of opportunity to get his hands on the ball when he plays on the wing or half-forward flank. If he was playing as a shutdown defender, I'd agree with you.

Has anyone got any stats on Nibbler's kilometres run and possessions? I reckon he would have the most kms per disposal of any midfielder in the comp. Doubt anyone in the comp is working harder for their possessions than he is.

i agree. ANB runs a lot but doesn't do all that much that I can tell. often runs past the ball or into a bad position, then when he does get to the ball, he's that surprised by it, he mostly fumbles it. just seems to lack composure to me.

He was better last season though. I think having the likes of Fritsch, Hannan, Garlett, Spargo, Harnes, Melksham, etc rotating through the forward line has meant his role has been curtailed a bit, and he seems a little lost now and lacks confidence. As we're a bit on the slow side and lack for run, there's a spot for the guy in the side, but he's been a letdown when the ball has been in his vicinity.

Maybe i should have checked the stats from yesterday, still didn't really notice him yesterday from the ground. Maybe I am still taking into account the previous 5 bad weeks.
I read somewhere that he was also the leading player on the ground for pressure applied. I’m not really a Harmes fan but there’s no way known he’s getting dropped after that game.

I am a Nib fan but he’s not a player whose in form. First out for Trac if fit.

I’m starting to come round to this way of thinking - I get we need I develop him - I just want us to be considered and deliberate on when we play him v Pedo - I feel crunch games or hard teams I would prefer him over the weed and then use the less critical games / teams for weed, obviously taking into account length of the break, getting a run of a few games and so on

It’s just hard these days to know which are the higher probability of winning games - dare I say Carlton?

It's hard to see on tv, but I'm not sure what's going on with anb, is he running to the wrong spots? He does a few good things and he just disappears. I'm thinking he is too focused on his role and he has forgotten how to play with instinct. Needs to go back and just get his hands on the footy.

Rest from what? He's played 1 game and already you think he needs a spell? Did more in one game then Garlett has done all year. He can try and earn his spot back now.
